  1. Coastieee240z, is there a reason you type in blue text?
  2. PrOxLaMuS- Doesn't seem to work for me. This is and old keyboard maybe I'll try it on one of my other computers.
  3. #1 is the first one clockwise from the clip above the vaccum control unit.
  4. "Original-style" headlamps will remain available throughout our lifetime. I don't even understand the gist of this thread. It died over a year ago without any solution for the original question. Like others said, just get under the car a change the damn things if you have to. How hard is it? How often do you have to change them?
  5. PrOxLaMuS (no copyright key on my 'board), I haven't forgotten about the wheels. I just haven't had a chance to get to FedEx and USPS. I hope to have an answer for you by the end of the week.
  6. I would say, considering the cash it would take to what you describe in your first paragraph, which sounds like a pipe dream to me, why not make it a twin turbo, or an RB for that matter. All it takes is money. Practicality would side with the L26 but you'll never 'blow past the ricers' with that. I have no vote on this poll because none of this means anything to me. (perhaps the young bull-old bull theory?)
  7. Everthing I ever ordered from them seemed to come from Bruce Titus Nissan in Tacoma, Wa. Payment processing and shipping has always been prompt. I have never personally experienced the situation you described with them.
  8. I'm sure you also heard stories of stations being shut down, business liscenses being revoked, large fines being imposed, people even doing jail time for cheating on the emissions testing program here in Cali. Even though the whole thing is an out ant out racket, I just prefer to play it straight up because they hold all of the cards!
  9. Not as easy to do in California as it used to be. Even so, I wouldn't go 'broadcasting' such intentions over the intenet as the fines are pretty steep here if you get caught.
  10. Banzai Motorworks (http://www.zzxdatsun.com) sells all the pre-formed tank hoses and grommets. They list them for 1970-1973 240Z but I believe the 260Z uses the same setup.
  11. Ares240Z, it looks like Nate have come up with a different plan and no longer needs an extra 'set of eyes.'
  12. Where did the rotors come from? I once bought a pair from one of the local auto parts stores and no matter what I did they squealed. I ultimately replaced them with a pair of OEM rotors and the problem was solved.
  13. DatsunZGuy, the link didn't work for me but 74 is the last exempt year for now due to the present rolling 30 year rule. Beginning April 1, 2005, 1975 and older vehicles will be exempt. It will no longer be 30 years and older from that point that is until they decide to change it again.
  14. Shhhsh! I'm already watching one of those!
  15. You'rs just sneaks by in California. It wouldn't have to be smogged.
  16. All 280Z models, 1975-1978, had electronic (pointless) distributors. Even some of the earlier cars had a similar ignition. I'm not sure if it's the later 240Z and the 260Z or just the 260Z. Someone will have to help me out there.
  17. Oh yeah? I can top that. I've had cars with 4-track tape decks in them!
  18. So the car I bought new in 1970 was very early at worst #1455 or earlier? Makes me kind of sick to think that I bascally traded it in for a 72 :stupid:
  19. That appears to be the same checklist that is available on a site (I forget exactly where). I have it somewhere on my computer. I can't believe this guy is auctioning it on eBay.
  20. I have to admit, I missed the fuel injection cleaning as a diagnosis to the problems you've had. I've dealt with the EFI system for some time now and I guess I took it for granted. Now this is not a plug for a product coming up here, just something that works and has worked for me over the years. I always use Lucas upper cylinder lubricant about every fifth fillup in all my cars. Carbed or EFI. Never had a problem. Eight years with the Z and almost two years with the 810. And I use 87 octane! No ping, no surge, etc. I'm glad you've solved the problem. I've always been a fan of the Nissan/Bosch style EFI. It may be primitive by todays standards but it does work!
  21. Then there's hardtop vs. coupe. vs sedan. Coupes I always thought had pillarless/frameless door/windows and sedans had the frames. So the, what's a hardtop? Would that be opposed to a softtop/convertible/cabriolet? It's 8:40 am, my brain hurts!
  22. Les occaisonally posts on IZCC, maybe we can get him to post here. Is he presently a member?
  23. Looking at the schedule, I'm going to try to make the Grand American in April, and the Historic Sports Car Races in June. I don't see the JGTC listed for '05 but I'll probably shoot for some of the drag racing as well.
