There are obviously some misplaced priorities here. Sex is sex and cars are cars. (Even a Z) If it ever came down to a choice between the two, I'd be walking!

When I had my Z painted in 1998 I went to a highly recomended shop in Ontario, Ca. They removed all the trim, marker lights, etc., without breaking any of the pins, masked everything impractical to remove, including the muffler and tank, and used high quality paint with integrated clear coat. I paid less than half of what you paid and it still looks good today. In fact, when I bought the 810 in 2003, I also had it painted there.

Friend of mine had one of those some years ago. (AH 3000) I just remember how sweet that car sounded! He spent a lot of time working on it, however.

Well, we were talking about cars. I've use the mig to weld broken bed frames, wrought iron fences, and many other homeowner and hobby type things too. They are worth the cost if you know how to use them. All it takes is practice.

That makes for smoother rust.

I use my MIG whenever there's a need. Install my own mufflers, make stuff like strut bars, brackets, etc. Drill press, bench grinder, Mig, oxy-acetalyne (sp?); working on these older cars, I'd be lost without them.

AN 84 DAUTSON 280ZX? What is that? 280ZXs were made from 1979-1983. Could it be a 1984 DATSUN 300ZX?

It's just another expression used here but I believe that I speak for many of us in saying that we don't!

I've seen it at one of the shows. Can't say I was impressed. You don't see many 520 pickups stock or otherwise. People are always telling me to drop a V6, a V8, or an SR20DE etc. in my 320 but it's not happening!

So, hf240z, how's the Z coming along after about three years? I pulled a couple of diesel cranks from the junkyard a couple of year's back. I never considered building a stroker myself but I got these for people that were willing to pay me $250 each for them! There was a lot of work involved just getting those motors out of the maxima to get the crank out of them. I doubt if I would ever do it again but I don't see them much anymore in the junkyards.

Or check the connection at the temperature sensor.

Don't give up. At least yours ran when you got it. I had to tow mine home.
