  1. Nope. Hot exhaust gasses run through there.
  2. Besides, the Devil-z isn't a 78 280Z like he has.
  3. All three of my Datsuns get noticed when I drive them. I'll be washing the 810 and someone walking by will say 'nice car' or 'what year is that' (as if they have a clue what it is), or something along those lines. Someone invariably comments or waves when I'm driving the Z or getting gas. The truck, well you can't miss it. It's bright red, fairly clean, and unique in this world of mega trucks and suv's. Of the three, it's the most noticed. But then, this is Southern California. Year round driving of classics, special interest, muscle, etc. cars, lots of car stuff going on all the time so it doesn't surprise me.
  4. Actually, it think that is the factory arrangement. Those are on my 810 and Z though they are later models but they've been on every other L or Z engined Datsun I've owned.
  5. Don't really need a picture. If you plug it, the vapors from the crankcase will have to be vented somewhere or you'll have problems.
  6. PCV (positive crankcase ventillation), crankcase breather, same thing.
  7. It's from the movie 'Back to the Future'.
  8. Not sure, maybe Ron knows. I think there's condos now where the BRE shop was.
  9. Is that the crankcase breather tube you're referring to? If so, I wouldn't block it.
  10. I've got 2256014 Yokohama A509's on my 78. The don't scrape during turns or at any other time. The key is probably the wheels you put them on.
  11. You ought to hear it up close......awesome as Datsun once said in their ads! And, Al (240Z-Fan), 'show West coast' is fine. It sounds like a google translation from one of the Japanese sites. I was there in 05, 06, and 07 with my truck, my 810, and my truck again respectively. I was going to bring the Z this year but the guys on Old Datsun Pickup Lovers talked me into bringing the truck again. And to R.C., I actually visited the shop in El Segundo back in the day and saw the original '46' 240Z as well as the other cars in the shop. You car looks as if you brought the original out of cryogenic hybernation! A very faithful reproduction. And, since the technology is better now, yours would probably out perform the original.
  12. I like the edge. It's a continuation of the body line from the fender to the hood. But get clear, not smoked for the reason that Justin mentioned.
  13. I recall a Tim Horton's during our trip back east. I think it was in Steubenville,OH.
  14. Here's a link to the segment in wmv form: http://www.datsunracing.us/RC-World/Ron-CarCrazyTV.wmv
  15. I tried to fix mine but ended up replacing the window about ten years ago. We talked about defoggers/rear windows etc. here: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28305
  16. Seated? As I recall, those screws will go a long way down. I've never had them all the way in on either car. I make my adjustments based on the readings on the meter I use.
  17. We're talking Datsuns here but I owned a Ford Econoline Van back those days also. Room wasn't a problem......
  18. Gary, you must have missed DeMoore's post #30.
  19. Those are the air bypass screws. I wouldn't play around with them too much wihout some sort of meter to read the air/fuel mixture, CO, etc. because that's what it will affect. I use a Gunson Gastester for that ususally every other year just before I have my car smog checked. The air temp sensor is located just in front of the flap in the AFM. It's the white plastic thing sticking out into the opening on the air cleaner side of the AFM.
  20. Here's the test procedure for that relay. If it checks out okay check the ignition relay in the passenger side bracket since it feeds the fuel injection relay.
  21. Remember, Kharma is a 'her'.
  22. The Car Crazy episode that contains Ron's segment is on right now. His segment is after the Edsel Ford interview so you have a few minutes if you hurry.
  23. That's the one.
  24. I get this when I try your link:
  25. Austen is on to something there. A bad injection realay can prevent both the injectors and the fuel pump from working since the power for both run through it.
