Oh.. and take care .. there are little springs in there.. ( clean work bench with some white paper helps a lot.) Maybe also put a other closing lip on the front of the lock, they are often broken.. take them from any other lock..

Take apart the locks that don't fit your key, put the 4-5 plates in it in the way they fit the best your key and then, with the key in place flatten these plates carefully with a angle sander.. (or other sanding tool) then assemble the loc again and your key will fit all your locs! Your welcome 😉 ... Let me know if you have any trouble.. it IS a bit of a pain in the a*** to get the lock open but with a very small screwdriver you can carefully open the chrome or stainless edge open on the front of the lock it self! (Very important: flatten the plates WITH the key IN PLACE! If there is a chance that you sand into the openings in the plates use a plate out of a spare lock or other lock.) I've done this with success on more than one lock.. let us know how (well) it went!

Personally i like the double tape emblems as the holes in the panels always are a rust risk.. My own resto 280zx has not a single emblem as i like to let the people guess what it is .. (in europe these cars are much less around.) But i do have the complete set for the car in a extra booklet! (that way they stay nice haha as the car is used through all year..)

Thanks! yes... something like that.. the shade makes it a bit impossible to see it right.. picture gets a little blurred/muddled.. ( It looks like there is a plate missing and a little round plate is installed on one side? does not seem right....) About "the master link" i believe these chains have the ends riveted as they don't need to be opened to get them off. ( Thanks, zedhead, you said it.. although the computer took: kcpope said.... Anyway.. i would check about anything on that car when i saw those things like that fuelpump without the eccentric! So check if the engine turns without hitting some valves or leak oil/coolant. check if there is cooling and oil and when started keep a close look at the temperature.. Also watch for fuelleaks.. (as that fuelpump has never worked in that config.)

A chain has 2 ends.. they meet at one point.. (in your case ON that picture AT 3 o'clock !! You know what 3 o'clock means? that's to the right of the middle bolt, seen from the front.) It looks like there is the closing lock.. It's to long ago for me that i looked at the timing of a L28 but there should be a chain lock in your chain were the ends are connected.. I see something odd in the chain at 3.. Just check the chain for irregularities. Also if you can bend the chain in the wrong way to much it's worn and needs to be replaced. If the chain is very loose replace it anyway. If your chain is like this one.. not bending (to much) in the wrong way, it's still good.. (On a Heuer Front bench vice.. one of the best there are.. 😉 )

When i looked at your chain.. does it mis the closing lock at 3 o'clock? (Looking from the front) Can't see it very clear but check it please!

First .. LOL! I see it's also coverted to carbs (As mech.fuelpump and injection would not work together..) You can use any eccentric used in a 240 or 260z or even other mech. fuelpump 6 cyl.cars from nissan i think? They all have the same eccentric for the fuelpump. I assume it does not run..? didn't run? If it runs.. Maybe it has also a electric fuelpump as some 260Z's i heard have those.. (i still find it strange to have 2 fuelpumps.. in series that is!!) but they exist.. Check your fuelpressure in front of the carbs, they don't like a high ( some/most? elec.pump's.) pressure..

Long ago a friend did this with a multicable (24 channel audio mixer cable) i saw he was halfway soldering those little wires into a connector without first putting the cover on the cable, as the other side was already done.. he bad mouthed for an hour (!) and took all those wires off to start again! 24 earth covered in stereo so 72 wires to solder in 1 connector... lots of FUN.. 🤬 At first i told him to stop.. but i had to persuade him to do so.. he didn't see it.. but after i showed him the cover that was lying around he started cursing! It was SO FUNNY !!

THIS part is exactly the part that makes the jackpoints strong! Also when you put the car on a 2 post lift! Lots of people do this wrong because they don't trust that part you are refering to! The middle part in this beam makes it very strong, so strong you can lift your car with a jack without a problem.

I think it's overkill.. 1,0 to 1,4 mm steel is more than enough, i had to remove a floor that was made of much to thick steel.. when i took it out some 25 kg of steel fell to the floor.. i replaced it with 1mm steel and the car got a bit faster! Also... never weld steel over some old steel it will always create a mountain of rust!! Always weld head to head.. so: 1 not necassary.. 2 much to heavy (= slower car.) 3 covering is asking for rust.. (Weld some steel IN it not OVER it!) 4 If done on the front, you take out the crumple zone.. you create a even more dangerous car to drive.. I once seen a car that had those fat beams in the front (over the front wheels), It's dangerous to do because if you have an accident the crumple zone is... the place were you are sitting... not a nice thought!

Just don't go to occarpets.com they throw you a 2 seater carpet eventhough you ordered a 2+2.... a er se holes.. And i assumed they had send... all the way to europe ... a good set.. and after half or a hole year i was to late to return it and they did'nt do anything (So i learned to: ALWAYS CHECK THE PARTS WHEN THEY COM IN!) I asked for a 2+2 280zx set and got a 2 seater carpet.. nice! but way to small.

The one with the single dot is a "misprint" the other dot just fell "into the groove".. (Haha..madonna!!) 😂 I don't know why it has 2 dots.. maybe someone wanted to give their nuts and bolts this so they can recognize their own bolts and screws? (or maybe they are extra hard or strong..)

I'm sure .. i never would take that apart.. sand it a bit and paint it.. look what it looks like after 50 years! It's never gonna brake.. It can work another 50 years this way. (can get dangerous to take springs apart.. i would not risk it.)

In fact what your saying is they are to small (diameter)? What brand is it.. they should make it a bit bigger.. (Complain about it!) If i ever needed to glue them i use some black window/glass sealer IN the rubber.. other ways it gets a mess fast.. 3M has 2 types (I believe.. not sure of it is 3M but at my painter) i had 2 sorts of black stuff.. one hardens and one does not..

Ah, that kind of cover.. i was thinking of a kind of plastic cap like a 280zx has.. (a 280zx has even (foot/cabin) lights in it.)

Not a belt... a chain, and as it's very flexible (in your pic i can see it's bend a bit sideways..) tells me you need a new distribution set..

Eh.. i never seen a cover for those wires.. i tink? yes on the later 280 but not a 240z? i got an early 71 240z and does not have the cover.. I don't have any idea where to screw it to? If anyone has a cover, i like to see pics.. never seen one....i think?? 🙊
