  1. I think back in the day a production car of 1970 could have used some 69 parts, even a 72 could have used 70 parts laying around in the factory. I see that evidence on many 240z's.. The small features on the cars change slowly over the years they where build, but some later models still used some early parts.
  2. Enjoy it ! You will see there are plenty of things to do, you won't get bored
  3. Great results ! Puts the 240z ever further in the spotlight of classic cars..
  4. I believe the 240z never had a manual antenna ?

  12. Needs welding, floors, doglegs, but seems to me a good candidate for a restoration ? Original engine is still there. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-/122021923385?forcerrptr=true&hash=item1c6912ca39:g:NMoAAOSwNuxXaJLN&item=122021923385

  15. Actually a series 2 doesn't exist. That's just what we call it based on the rear sail pillar emblem. But changes went slowly over time during the production. They used up parts laying around from the real early cars on mid to late 71's.
  16. All stock with stock camshaft. Valve seats have been replaced offcourse for unleaded. I am not sure about the price yet, it's hard to determine a price for these..
  17. Not good. Go back. It was done to quickly, and the preparation wasn't done right. That grinder marks should have been sandblasted. The yellow is only touching the edges as you can see.
  18. Could be a 69, this came up on the nissan website as a 69 fairlady z model..
  19. What do you mean with a period styled racer ? You said you want a matching numbers car. So you just want to upgrade the engine a bit, like for instande triple carburetors, or do more things ? The first thing you should look for on a 240Z is an as much as possible rust free car. If you buy cheap you will need to invest more to get it back in good condition, so you would be looking at at price tag of around 15k or more. Here's an example ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-/252405711514?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3ac48d829a:g:ExsAAOSwa81XSeWB&item=252405711514

  23. It was done pretty good, although it's missing many Original parts. Never understood why they ditched the Hitachi carbs for throttle bodies and fuel injection. I mean isn't a classic supposed to be restored to Original ?
