  1. I'm with you on the heat. Most people put them up in the winter months. Not down here! I drive mine at daybreak for an hour at the most. But after September and until May I wear mine out. 8^)
  2. Looks like you're missing a lot of fuses? Mine is full.
  3. Google those numbers, I don't have a clue.
  4. That light bulb he's talking about is a dome light bulb, the interior light on the roof. I bought one from Advance when I first had problems with my 280's side lights. I took the fuse and found the right length bulb. FYI
  5. I finally took some time and timed my newly rebuilt 2.4. I initially had set the idle timing to 10 degrees and noticed it would flatten out around 5,000 RPM so I knew I had some more tuning to do. So today, a month later, I took some vacuum readings and actually used the $100 dial back timing light I got for Christmas. My results, 17 hgs of ported vacuum at 2,500, off the front carb's vacuum advance hose. Good I think. Set the static/idle to 17 degrees at 800 RPM then ran the dial back function up to 34, it's digital, and set the RPM to 2,500 and shot the pulley. Dead on 0, TDC mark on the pulley. Went for a drive, ran great. A brand new Corvette was out too. I pull up alongside him and we exchange thumbs up, he looks ahead I drop down to 3rd gear and floor it. You know how autos hesitate for a second while they spin up? I pulled ahead of him for that one second then he shot by me like an RPG. He slowed down to get beside me, gave me a salute and a smile as did I for him. Wonderful morning!
  6. Not trying to be a d*** but are you sure the park lights are off when you get that spark? I think one of your side marker sockets has gotten rusty, mine did that. The drain hole in the lense was stopped up.
  7. We'll meet up again someday, I'm sure of it. I just remembered our conversation. You bought a truck to haul the 2.4 back to Canada! After reading a few minutes there was an International Scout and the Nissan Patrol that used the SD33T diesel motors. I also read the 620 PU had a diesel but it's a 4 cylinder.
  8. Isn't there a 620 pickup with the diesel motor in it? Seems like @Blue was coming down south to pick one up, Florida maybe?
  9. If the prices continue to rise the way they have been, I will buy as many as I can find down here. Work on them until I'm not able to anymore then sale. They're a great investment.
  10. First of my day! 8^)
  11. So true Mark, I've bubbled my fingers touching the bulbs. 1157s IIRC. 8^(
  12. I "LIKE" what you say Dennis, I'm maxed out for the day though. Ten per day and I'm an early riser.
  13. A man after my own heart!
  14. There you go! 8^)
  15. Definitely not in my experiences. Mom's my gauge though, I've learned more from her than she knows.
  16. Read, read, read! Every problem I've ever had has been documented over the 40 years of these cars. 8^)
  17. There you go! Sounds like a good idea to me.
  18. If that dimmer works like a potentiometer I think I would try spraying some CRC electrical cleaner first. Then pull it and sand the wrapped wiring.
  19. Google search https://www.google.com/search?ei=6X2KV8y0A4XFmQG5nZUw&q=280z+dash+light+dimmer+switch+ground&oq=280z+dash+light+dimmer+switch+ground&gs_l=mobile-gws-serp.12...12461.18679.0.20075.11.11.0.0.0.0.417.2881.0j1j8j1j1.11.0....0...1c.1.64.mobile-gws-serp..0.9.2462...30i10.v6x7dr9i1SE
  20. And a connection above the fuse panel.
  21. I did a quick google search of 280z dash light blows fuse. Here's the thread that mentions the inspection light in the engine bay also corroded side marker light sockets. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/48516-keep-blowing-the-fuse-for-the-dash-lightstail-lightspark-lights-please-help/
  22. My Mom got out at 62 and regrets it. She says there's a big difference in the money between 62 & 65. She worked in the IT department at a hospital, retired and all she does is stay online. She's nutty as squirrel's turd.
  23. I can find more fasteners in those drawers than a parts store. Ace has the same too.
  24. It's grounded above the cig lighter I think. You should be able to see it from the floorboard, looking up. Maybe it's loose.
  25. Am I missing something here? The dimmer is the obvious problem to me. You unhook it or dial the power down and the fuse doesn't blow.
