  1. You could probably borrow a compression gauge from a chain parts store. That'd be my first step. Hope it's nothing serious.
  2. Somebody found a use for old tennis ball cans. Whala, Pringles!
  3. I'll try my best here, if you need something let me know. I don't have a millimeter tape measure but these are dead on 1/8's, except the distance from the outer edge and the holes all the way around. They are falling in between 3/8" and 1/2" on my tape measure. Overall length, 34-5/8" Width, 5-3/4" 1st hole, 5/8" from edge 2nd, 9-3/8" 3rd, 17-1/4" 4th, 25-1/8" 5th, 34-1/8" I started my measuring from the left side and the holes are between 3/8"&1/2" from the outer edge. I bought what I believe is the closest to original from Lowes hardware. Four #8 speed nuts and four #8x5/8" screws. Those are for the 2nd and 4th holes top and bottom, from the left. Six "variable depth push fasteners GM" for the 1st, 3rd and 5th holes top and bottom. I hope you can make sense of this but if zKars is willing to give you one for a template that would be better.
  4. Agree with zKars. That's why mine is off, it was bent in/broken over the years. I suppose something slid into it? But that's why I removed it and had an upholstery shop glue that thin metal patch in my first picture.
  5. @sdyck I laid everything out and my damn digital camera's batteries are dead. Arghh! First thing in morning I'll have it. My phone's camera isn't as many pixels, low dollar phone.
  6. I'll measure the hole spacing and the overall piece tonight and post you up a detailed picture with my laptop. I'm using my phone now, and it doesn't have any kind of photo shop. I'll get it to you asap. 8^)
  7. I've got mine out right now if you need any measurements. @sdyck
  8. I was looking for the speedometer dim spot that haunts my limited nighttime cruises. Everything I found and tried to view I got that upgrade image. It happened so much my anger turned to amusement. I'm sorry CO. Maybe me and some of the guys that rely on your visuals regularly could start a "go fund me"? I could save empty beer cans and get them back up in a month or two. Have you tried "my attachments" on here yet? I've got close to 90 pages so far.
  9. I've read a lot about those on here. It's a quality control mark during assembly and there's a name for it but I can't remember. Here's something I found real quick. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/17394-240z-gas-tank-markings/?do=findComment&comment=139605
  10. Like everything else being made now, they have a short lifespan on purpose. Return business. Marketing Trumps engineers. 8^(
  11. Well I owe some apologies then. Sorry @lonetreesteveand Isaiah Thomas. Don't want to get my doodle cut off by that lady with the sword.
  12. I think mine are euro lights? Bought them from futofab.com They're red and orange.
  13. When I sold my 240 on cragslist there was a ton of guys wanting to bypass the craigslist email service to put on their on click bait webpages. The one that pissed me off so bad wad 240zsforsale.com or something similar to that. When they demanded my phone number I told to them to go f**k themselves. It's a a scam. Who wants to know your story?
  14. Is there an interesting story behind the shoe shine box? My Grandad had one almost exactly like your avatar but I remember it had some burgundy felt/satin like stuff on the shoe holder. He was a sharp dresser and his shoes were like mirrors. Your avatar really brought back some good memories for me and I thank you. He would let me "polish" his shoes and then put me to bed and redo them! I never knew that until after he passed away. 8^)
  15. I bead blasted all the aluminum on mine then soaked it with a high heat clear satin for aluminum I bought from Eastwood. Diamond something? I can't remember now but I still have some left. It's like water and soaks into the parts. Google something like "high heat clear aluminum protector"? I remember there were others besides Eastwood but that stuff is working fine for me. I just put on a coat a day until it quit soaking in. You don't want a build up like paint or it'll turn yellowish, just a good saturation and it'll have the nice clean aluminum look but not stain like raw aluminium will.
  16. Mark you are true speed freak! I used to be but when a 400lb motorcycle would get close to 200mph I knew my brain couldn't keep up with that and bought a dual sport DRZ 400. 80mph tops! I'm still alive but crippled up as hell from all the wrecks I've had so I agree and highly recommend some driving training from Someone. That RB motor in a 240 is going to be rocket and as much as love the 240 they are not new enough to handle curves at speeds that motor will put out.
  17. So sorry for your loss Mike and especially for Sheryl. Knowing he is finally pain free makes his loss a little better. Thank you for sharing this with all of us friends of Brian. Although I never met him he always had a great sense of our cars and most importantly wanted to and did help anyone who needed it. Rest in peace Olzed. Cliff
  18. I sold a '72 to a guy that had all the rust areas replaced with Tabco panels his body shop used. He told me they were a little off but that the body shop knew this and were experienced enough to make them look good. Just an FYI, I've never used a welder myself.
  19. I went by this when I replaced my connectors but it's been years ago so I can't remember right off the top of my head. Read through this but it looks like the 12 volt faces the front of the motor. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/injectors/connectors/index.html
  20. I was thinking you said "Rat Lodge" and were going to pay me to send up some Alabama Rats?
  21. Grannyknot I left that bottom factory lip behind my Xenon and it gives it support against flexing. I do agree and like that one you posted better though. But for $150 ish I went with that xenon from jegs.com. it doesn't vibrate that I can feel at 120mph. Hadn't been over that though, my wipers started lifting off the windshield around there so I let up. I know you'll figure something cool out! Can't wait. Cliff IMO you should get into planes if your wife will allow. Personal one seaters that are affordable so I can get one. 8^)

"Use cooking oil not motor oil" I would've used Mobil 1 synthetic had I not read that instead of EVO. By the way what the hell is "extra virgin" anyway? Would that be twin twelve year olds?

Funny you mentioned that. An Adult Swim cartoon, American Dad, that I watch said something similar on one of their episodes. Don't know if it's true or not but he said 3,000rpm for maybe 10 minutes and the manifold would be 400f for grilling hamburgers if you ever got stranded and needed to cook.
