  1. You can get them for a 4-wheeler at your local motorcycle shop. They have those metal bands that work great instead of the e-bay ones that send you zip-ties.
  2. I could have waited, much longer!
  3. Sounds good! Make a plan and stick to it.
  4. Instead of saying "good morning" like normal I say "sigh". It's never good.
  5. I used basic brass plugs from Lowes. 1/4" and 1/8" for the balance tube. Also used thread sealant that I had from making a fuel rail out of aluminum with brass bungs. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51SF7HJG4AL._AC_UL320_SR194,320_.jpg
  6. To get my plug out I used a small pipe wrench and a bottle jack to loosen mine. Situated the wrench so I could get the jack under the handle then pumped the jack a few times and it loosened up.
  7. That's the speedometer cable leaking transmission fluid. Here's a thread on the seal that fixed mine and the Nissan P/N. I got mine from the local dealership they did have to overnight order it.
  8. Not so much trouble when you know the way things work, eh?
  9. Turbo, Julio. You can do just as well with that P90 head and flat tops on that F54 block. I know you've read this before but I'm gonna post it anyway. https://datsunzgarage.us/engine/
  10. I'll add another word association for the boaters. "PORT" 4 letters like LEFT
  11. The way I remember is right is "right" normal threads. Driver's side is left handed.
  12. I stole this cassette from my step-a s s hole when I was a kid. When cassettes where still off white colored, before the clear ones. I listened to it so much I still know every word to all the songs but this was my favorite.
  13. He hasn't been around lately that I'm aware of but he may get an e-mail if I "tag" him @S30Driver Good luck!
  14. There's one on FB marketplace in Indiana for $100 that looks to be in a little better shape in my opinion. It's out of a '77.
  15. I plugged mine off but it doesn't get very cold down here. Less chances off leaking, losing coolant was my main reason. Lots of info in these threads... https://www.google.com/search?q=plugging+water+to+carbs+240z+classiczcars.com&sca_esv=77dc914585b7f4b2&rlz=1C1VDKB_enUS1121US1121&ei=1oETafjINaKHp84P-LudoAw&ved=0ahUKEwj4i8S_3uqQAxWiw8kDHfhdB8QQ4dUDCBM&oq=plugging+water+to+carbs+240z+classiczcars.com&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiLXBsdWdnaW5nIHdhdGVyIHRvIGNhcmJzIDI0MHogY2xhc3NpY3pjYXJzLmNvbTIFEAAY7wUyCBAAGKIEGIkFMgUQABjvBTIIEAAYgAQYogQyBRAAGO8FSJZBUOkFWKcfcAF4AJABAJgBlgGgAcYIqgEDMC45uAEMyAEA-AEBmAIKoALsCMICDhAAGIAEGLADGIYDGIoFwgILEAAYsAMYogQYiQXCAggQABiwAxjvBcICCxAAGIAEGLADGKIEwgIKECEYoAEYwwQYCsICCBAhGKABGMMEmAMAiAYBkAYIkgcDMS45oAfSHLIHAzAuObgH5wjCBwUwLjguMsgHFA&sclient=gws-wiz-serp
  16. It looks like roof cement. 😁 I would use alcohol or lacquer thinner on a rag and wipe it to see if it stains the rag black. POR-15 shouldn't wipe off.
  17. Your work is getting results. Congratulations! Keep on marching.
  18. That stiff choke could be the hoses on the nozzles. From what I've learned the choke is actually just dropping the nozzles, no closing of the butterflies like most chokes. I bought one a few years ago somebody had put stiff fuel line from float chambers to the nozzles. It was so hard to pull the lever back I broke where the pull handle connects under the console. Lucky for me they make a better bracket that mounts to the sheet metal tunel. Z Car Depot IncChoke Lever Mounting Plate Reinforcement 240ZChoke Lever Mounting Plate Reinforcement 240Z - 800-733 (). Choke and console reinforcement plate for use on Datsun 240Z 1972 to 1973 that use the series 2 console where the choke lever was shifted toAnd I would try clamping off the return and see what that does. At worst the fuel will come out the overflow bungs on the lids. I've seen people run the overflow hoses into a empty drink bottle or a big medicine bottle to keep fuel off your engine. I apologize if I'm confusing your work. I just read the forum a lot and throw stuff out hoping it could help the problem. Cliff
  19. @Captain Obvious do you know if the fuel rail for flat tops work with earlier carbs?
  20. One more thing you should look at as a possible weak link. The hose that goes from the float chamber to the nozzle has to be soft. Off the shelf 3/16 fuel line doesn't work too good. Another thing on the no start is the linkage has to be just right between the carbs. Those flat stops can look right but be out of order.
