This place is beautiful from the pictures I've seen. I know the 2 Arkansas guys always went, @Zup @S30Driver Still drinking from the coffee cup they gave me, us, and wearing the t-shirt. Those two are great guys, maybe we'll get a response?- saturday night music thread
No guitar, bass has only 2 strings and they make made this awesome music.- Body repair question - inside the hatch
You are this best! Enjoy the weather while you can, it'll change soon enough.- Interesting way to break a thermostat housing.
The strike through I love it! It's not perfect passive aggressive.- Body repair question - inside the hatch
It's pouring rain here at the moment but tomorrow I can get it out and get some pics of those areas. Mr Arnett will beat me to it with better pictures. He always does.- Interesting way to break a thermostat housing.
Yes! Could've saved me some antifreeze and the resulting clean up of said antifreeze. My dog goes down there alone 3 or 4 times a day to go outside through his "doggy door". I worry messing with antifreeze because of him and his always hungry personality. Could be another Jamestown someday?- What’s my first move??
Id drain the tank if haven't. O'Reillys has the filter pretty cheap. Do the G3 pre filter. O'Reillys has their store brand, I think fram is no more? https://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/fuel/g3filter/index.htm Run the new clear pre filter and check it out. You may need a tank cleaning and coating, that's rusty looking. About as bad as a 240 I bought.- Body repair question - inside the hatch
I bought my bumpers and tail lights from this guy. Years ago but best price then, I think he had some black Friday sale or something. https://www.futofab.com/- Body repair question - inside the hatch
My HLS30-69,??? early 1972 never painted. #1 bottom of hatch where it meets the slam panel #2 slam panel latch #3, 4, 5 inside hatch shot of push button latch #6 one of two holes under hatch where it hits slam panel with the plugs shown later installed #7 empty hole without plug #8 hardboard access cover under hatch where it hits slam panel. Cracked hardboard but my interior guy used some thin galvanized metal glued on backside to keep it straight. Nissan rubber plugs for the holes. Measured the hole and my Nissan parts guy found them as "heater grommets" I have access downstairs walk if you need more. No problem at all. I'm not doing anything ever...don't hesitate to ask. @conedodger- Interesting way to break a thermostat housing.
Damn it man! Our timing is off.- Interesting way to break a thermostat housing.

Well crap! Now I've gotta pull it to see for my self. I won't be able to sleep tonight.- Interesting way to break a thermostat housing.
My '77 has a one part sensor in it. I know this for sure as I had it out testing it, or trying to with the help of @SteveJ about 2 weeks ago. Not saying it won't work but that's what is in it know. I'll try and find the pictures I sent Steve through direct messaging. Just woke up, need more coffee right now. If I remember right my '72 has the nut that holds it in. Apparently it's been more than 30 days we were texting those photos of my sensor and my ohm meter, they're gone out of my gallery trash bin. Sorry, I'll have it back out soon to replace and maybe make a fool out of myself for being completely wrong.- Interesting way to break a thermostat housing.
I think I would "pre" install that sensor into the new housing. Scares me, I'm about to buy the same newer sensor but seeing what you have side by side looks a little off???- 280zx build
This is a good one to read if you haven't. https://datsunzgarage.us/ Best "how to" book you'll ever find if you can find one. I completely removed and rebuilt my first car motor, N42/N47, with some common mechanical sense and this book, all by myself. My Dad was dying to get involved but I needed him for 1 hour when I dropped the rebuilt motor/transmission combo back in my '77. I was terrified of dropping that thing on my car by myself. Getting the hood off then back on would have been a little easier with some help but I figured it out. And the help of this forum was priceless. Make some friends by posting photos of your work and if you ask for help do what they say.- 280zx build
If it's a US ZX that n42 and n47 are out of a 280Z, 1977 or 1978. The right motor combo would be f54 block and p79 cylinder head for 1980ZX. f54 block has flat tops but the n42s have dished pistons. I'll send you some links tomorrow morning when I've got my laptop opened up.- Heater/AC Firewall Grommet Question
The Nissan grommets I have are round and that hold down plate is flat on the top and bottom. Not sure how that would hold up? These are the ones I have left over. Someday I'll replace the old hardened ones on bottom of the hatch where it meets the slam panel, that's the plan anyhow.- Heater/AC Firewall Grommet Question
Maybe just to match the metal plate? Here's one with slits so you don't have to open the lines to install. Z Car Depot IncAir Conditioning A/C Lines Grommet on Firewall 260Z 280ZAir Conditioning Lines Rubber Grommet on Firewall 260Z 280Z Reproduction air conditioning lines rubber grommet for the A/C lines going through the firewall. Looks more #919... than #112 to me. Missing the lime tint.- saturday night music thread
The drummer cracks me up when he sees the camera on him.- Door panel removal tools
Thank you Sir. I went ahead a bought them after doing some reading from 2003 and 2009. Same exact tools were suggested a few times. Bought 25lbs of walnut shell media for my sandblast cabinet. Going to try it for the first time on aluminum, I've used "glass" bead before with good luck but damn that stuff has gone way up in price locally.- Door panel removal tools
These are at Harbor Freight for $5 at the moment. I need to take the driver's door interior panel off to install a new mirror and adjust the pull handle rod. Would these be okay for the job? https://www.harborfreight.com/Nylon-Pry-Bar-Installer-Kit-4-Piece-63594.html?event_id=184593- First post, finding help on 2 topics
People can't help but tap on the glass, sometimes a little too hard, when the gauge doesn't agree. - Anybody go to Branson Z Fest?
