  1. I have the blasting cabinet, although it can be tremendously slow. I have the same blasting basket And I have a similar tumbler Just need to figure out how to get the SS media
  2. They look pretty close. Im not sure I would worry about getting closer than that Edit: you might could scale the picture of the originals until the cable jacket is correct. Then take dimensions from the picture. We would do this all the time in Architecture
  3. Don't assume! Figure out how to direct wire it for testing
  4. I was surfing on my phone at the time and couldn't read the valve covers. Be careful, bad backs are no fun!!
  5. I have not researched the top errors much. Most of them seem to be motor issues. I'll do some looking...
  6. Looks like a Ferrari engine?
  7. Feel free to PM me questions. I have a good bit of BMW roadster experience. Ive owned like 6 or 7 Z3's and have bought like 6 Z4's
  8. You might want to look at relocating the pump to the trunk. The pump on the Z4 lives in a fish bowl. Also there is a mustang pump that can be used in lieu of the BMW pump. Its cheaper and faster
  9. Be sure and check the shift forks and sliders for wear. The 3rd gear maybe snapping in with slop from the slider
  10. Like a brand new car at 12k miles
  11. So what is a synopsis of your technique?
  12. I'm used to being hurt because I work on my tools in construction but never for this long. It gets tiresome after a while. thanks, Guys
  13. Its easy to over sand. Not exactly like wood but I found it stained out ok
  14. That would be cool but I was thinking several tire calculator links could be posted in the same article all in one place Options, ya know...
  15. Also some copper to back the hole Helps close them up too. Mind that the copper gets hot very quickly!! Do you not have a metal shop that can brake a section like that for you? I would consider replacing that or at least the worst sections. By the time its clean there wont be much metal left. Several years ago I would have chased those holes. I have come around to the idea that it's overall just easier to get rid of that rotten metal and the chassis is stiffer for it

    Thanks Jeff!
  17. JB weld probably won't work in this situation. It doesn't like to be flexed. Seals holes, drill it, mill it. Can even pull on it, but flexing, not so much
  18. No more Tri-metal??? Really?
  19. That is a most excellent shift knob!!!
  20. Ahhh, much better! A nice selection of cars there
  21. 624 days since a post!!! Pffttt! Depressing... Any way the car is still out of the shop and covered up and the Goon is occupying premium space but I did tinker a little today. I pulled together about 20#'s of metal to go to the platers. It's an experiment. I did very little prep work other than degreasing. We'll see what I get back. I also worked on one of the Cv axle halfshafts for the CLSD rear end. It's been sitting on my bench for almost 2 years. I found these numbers on the hub. Might be useful or cross-referenceable
