  1. Whilst everyone is telling you to stay clear of this car, I feel that this is premature. Firstly, [i may have missed this] but is this a complete package? Secondly, As a seller you always ask for a high price, the story is that you can never up the price so as a seller you start high, obviously there may be a LOT of negotiation here. After all if you manage to secure the lot for $500 then consider this a good deal. [hope you have a big garage]! REmember it is rapidly approaching Xmas and the seller may have to part with this, irrespective of realising his high price. By all means look at other cars, once you've looked at a few you will have a better understanding of Zeds and relative prices. Be ruled by your head and not your heart and lastly remember everyone has an opinion , some good, some not so good. Good luck and good searching.

Search the site for front spoiler, you will be surprised at the amount of info.
  3. I think with it being a detergent oil it prevents buildup that prevents sticking. I've used it in both cars for several years now with no adverse effects, can't say performance is any better, but I've always got ATF on hand [cheaper to]!
  4. Alan, I believe Dash Resto's in Qld do the door skins. HIH Mike
  5. Haaaaaa. Why waste you're time on this. Go for a RB series engine instead!
  6. Kahlau in mine please.........
  7. Ok, here you go Man & MAchine. Notice no hat or yellow pages!
  8. OK Convinced. But I'd still like to see a monacle on Victor!
  9. Haaaaaaaaa. Still need more convincing that, that is you Alan!
  10. Ah, a man of many identities......... with many stories to tell!!!!!
  11. You really mean Klink, don't you Herr Thomas.....
  12. Yep! At least you finally got it going, but if you're looking for better performance, SU's or EFI, unless you're willing to look at triple's
  13. Guy's, Netregistry will register your name xxx.org.au for $22 for 2 years! Keep up the good work and advise all of us zed owners when you've got the site up and running!
  14. Now if the motor was mid mounted then some calculated preload would be benefical. You wern't going to do a mid mount where you?
  15. As the name implies, collapsable wheel, or AKA a dinky wheel. It was[is] a narrow wheel, about 1/2 width of the original [read very narrow] and depending on model could come with a can of air to pump it up!. Big stink going on between the RACV & VicRoads on this very topic, they call them space saver wheels and carriage of them renders the vehicle un-roadworthy. Sorry about the ZX analogy, however that's where ther first came about to my knowledge.
  16. All very good questions! Collapasable wheel came out with the ZX models in Oz. Excuse my ignorance [it is a s-30 forum after all], but did the ZX come as a 2 seater? If so then it poses a very good question as to why the tool compartments were phased out? And lastly, is there a bigger tank? All very good questions, if of course you're into ZX's!
  17. I would suggest that you try a forum/club that is dedicated to Z31's!
  18. Wonderful, do I win a cigar? You may need to consider other issues here as well, as the springs vary in HLS-30's. THis was a factory design to make up for the weight of the driver. Obviously this isn't a problem in HS-30's and the reason for me querying whether you would notice any appreciable difference by moving the batt to the COM. Other factors to consider would be the appreciable weight gain that you will introduce to the vehicle by the addition of longer heavy cabling?
  19. Wonderful info, now could you please advise which one you have so I can identify mine as I have bolt up [flange fit] half shafts as well!
  20. You hadn't mentioned a specific model. I assumed it was a 240? Not being familar with this type of battery, is there much appreciable difference in weight?
  21. Not really a bad idea, never actually heard of any zed owners actually doing this as the weight ratios/COG are pretty good as they are. My thoughts would be to place the pack behing the pax seat/tool storage area somehow [RHD drive]. If you're using this space for extinguiser storage then I have no idea where else you could relocate the battery?
  22. Using the body as a return is dubious at the best of times. If it wasn't then all car electricals would be single wire! I suspect many of the zed electrical problems that we read about are brought about by PO's disregarding the negative return and relying on the body as a negative return rather than using a dedicated wire return to negative.
  23. Our water spins the right way, which is opposite to your way! It's called the corriollis effect [spelling might be wrong]. Water will drain straight down at the equator then slowly starts spinning in opposite directions as you move towards the poles.
  24. Try a zed wrecker for the original parts. Unless you're into competition avoid a full harness. [Life issues with belts etc].
