  1. Buggies had drum brakes too. The modern ones do.
  2. I'm not -that- interested in making my car like the 240s. I'm pretty sure the 280Z had regular rubber hoses, so I'd just use some of the polyester braid if I went that route. Plus, I've been replating my OE hose clamps. I wouldn't mind a few new ones to replace the band-clamps and have all the hose claps of the same kind thxZ
  3. You mean like $65 or so for just the one hose, or a set? including the clamps? thxZ
  4. adam, They all had basically the same things on it, but were designed differently, like the three I posted in #1. I may make an attempt at making a few of my own for things like a riced-up garden tractor, convertibles, or you can suggest one. It would be nice to see some new catagories, maybe something involving or loud stereos or subwoofers. thxZ
  5. If it's the right spring, get three or four, and keep the spares for a buddy. We gotta stock up on spare everything since stuff is getting harder to find. thxZ
  6. I picked three random pictures. There are all the same stuff to me.
  7. There are no judgment implied, involved or required. Perhaps you can explain what your last comment means? It is simply a sample of some ricer tickets. You boys in south CA might have a few Mex-mobiles around, so a ticket is provided. I have a bunch of different tickets in the collection, including one for a riced tractor for the boys in the midwest U.S.A.
  8. It must be summer and rice season out on the streets. I've seen 4 last weekend already, an they definitely weren't obeying the speed limit. I-90 is the highway number, not the speed limit! I've attached a few ricer tickets for you to print up and hand out to those that deserve infractions. thxZ
  9. Maybe the Bud Light Silver Bullet could kill somebody for you?
  10. Has anyone tried the Sam Adams Utopias beer?
  11. Anything in 1971 with electronic fuel injection would've been worth about a gazillion.
  12. the last car I saw with a 6Volt battery in it was a 1946 Olds.
  13. Dude, that's a different topic.
  14. It will be interesting if you can find what you were referring to. I think you could do with a few flash drives or a stack of CD-R disks to store stuff... :classic:
  15. I made a cover from MDF and attached some squishy-foam to it, and some felt to cover. At least I have something temporary to rest my elbow on.
  16. I'd be spending the whole day educating people! :ogre:
  17. Maybe this will help: http://www.pape.ws/allan_and_rosanne/Z-Car_Stuff/
  18. Funny. My FSM occupies a good bit of space on the bookshelf.
  19. I was at a car show the other day, and while resting inside the car I overheard a young dad telling his little boy some "facts" about my 280Z: "This guy took off the 4-barel carb and put on the fuel injection stuff, so now it's slower than other cars, but better mileage for city driving. It also has the heavier city bumpers put on it, instead of the lighter ones they originally came with." Or how about, "Why don't you bring your car over to my shop sometime, and we can re-chip your engine computer to get you 50 - 100 more HPs?" "These cars used to be called Corvette-killers because they were that fast." "Your car is illegal because it doesn't have the catalytic converter that ALL cars built after 1974 are required by law to have!" "I thought it had a V-8. Why did you swap your engine for something less powerful?" anything else? At least people read the entry sign in the window to see that it was a Datsun... thxZ
  20. I cfut out a card the same size as my owner's manual, and guess what? It doesn't fit in the glovebox! It actually sticks out some from the front edge. But... you can still close the door, if you don't mind a little bending of the booklet. I might put in a foam wedge to put it on the correct incline to fit the booklet without the bending. The other option would be to cut the booklet to fit. thxZ
  21. Welcome and good luck. Also- have patience; you seen to have that.
  22. What are the scoop holes for- where do they lead? I think you should've gone with the riveted garden-edging if you're worried about scrapes. thxZ
  23. www.Rockauto.com is a good source for parts like the fuel pump. They will list all kinds of stuff for the Z.
  24. You're probably sucking up all the rust & (junk) that's in your tank - not good for any engine. this comes from the old cars with steel gas tanks, ahich you kept at least 1/4 full so the foreign matter stayed in the tank and didn't get in the supply line. Fortunately, newer cars have plastic gas tanks (or at least mine does) so there's no chance for rust, but you can't always guarantee perfectly clean gas tank. I think that you may be sucking some air, which isn't good either.
