interesting troubleshooting that the seller mentions....... pulling the engine and rebuilding the head as a fix for the engine not starting. Dennis

Electric fan or new fan clutch/shroud for my 240z?
Sorry, no help with the part # for the flex fan I bought in 1979. There is one listed on eBay at: https://www.ebay.com/i/173624848712?chn=ps I bought the flex fan because it was an inexpensive replacement for the stock unit that had just gone through my radiator. It worked, not sure it was any better or worse at cooling than the stock fan and clutch set up. Replaced the flex fan with a stock fan and clutch about 2007. I think I probably pitched the flex fan and spacer but can check in the garage. Dennis

Installing an Electric Fan...
My '71 is working nicely with the original alternator, although others have mentioned upgrading when they added fans. Keep in mind that the article you posted above mentions that the Sirocco fan was NOT a perfect fix and the problem was not perfectly resolved until Nissan stopped using carbs and moved to fuel injection. So, like so many automotive upgrades, pay your money and take your chances. Based on what you've posted over the years, I have a sense that your Z will be a long term ongoing trial and error project. So, give it a try. Dennis

Installing an Electric Fan...
Can't hurt. Moving more air through the engine compartment is good on a hot day. Many of us have thermostat controlled electric fans on our Zs with AC. Haven't we had this discussion previously? Dennis

And, you can probably use it as a mobile "hotspot" for your computer or iPad. You now have more computing power in your hand than the first astronauts had in their space capsules. Dennis

rear view mirror
Alabama looks good tonight. Oklahoma, not so much. Snow is melting a bit but temperature is in the low 20s overnight. I was going to suggest a glass shop, but sounds like you've checked into that already. I did that with the Avanti outside mirror in the past. Dennis

Cliff, do you just need the glass mirror part?

Merry Christmas
Lake Arrowhead. A nice escape from the desert when it's 120º in the summer and 20 minutes from a ski resort in the winter.

Not in the 60s where I am today. 5,750 feet above sea level in the local mountains......where it snows and people ski. Dennis

Merry Christmas
It's been snowing here since about 5:00 this morning and my dog is still snuggled deep in the feather comforter on the bed. He's in for a snowy surprise when he goes out this morning. I hope Santa was good to all of you this year. Dennis

Oops. 7' X 2'.......and as you may have replied to your girlfriend, "It might not be too big around, but it's real short" Cliff, thanks for being a better proof reader than I am. Dennis

To add to the discussion and flash some "eye candy" I think any kind of poster/banner, whether factory or aftermarket, is a nice addition to a garage wall. I have everything from Studebaker dealership showroom banners to factory Porsche racing posters. I even have the full size highway billboard sheets for a late '60s Fiat, but no walls big enough for it.. I'm amazed what dealerships will give away if you ask nicely. As part of the sale deal, I picked up a large dealership display for the '83 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe I once bought. The local Infiniti service department manager gave me a large G37 convertible wall display after about five years of asking every time I went in for service. Although not factory, the banner below will eventually hang in the garage. It's 7' X 2' and has grommets for hanging or nailing. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all! Dennis

Datsun-240z Vs Fairlady-z432
In debt to Grandma or the opportunity to become the coolest kid in High School? That is a moral dilemma! At the local high school it's easy to tell the student parking lot from the teacher parking lot. No Dinos, but the better, newer, cars are in the student lot. Dennis

Rusty Fairlady for $28k?
Sorry, I don't have three. But I do have one (not a Z) parked in my garage. It was a very good buy at less than 50¢ for every dollar the previous owner spent as evidenced by the folder of receipts that accompanied the car at time of sale. It happens. ? Dennis

Rusty Fairlady for $28k?
Yup, that's how value often works. A buyer would have the choice of driving it like it is or making it a rather involved project car. As a project car, taking on a righthand drive Z in the US would add to the fun/drama. Much would depend on the restoration skills of the buyer, how much work would have to be "farmed" out, the depth of the budget, or all three. It's easy to look at the pictures of the car and realize that if you you were willing to pour $50,000 into it's restoration, you could end up with a very nice $25,000 Z. So, the value? For me maybe $5,000 as a daily driver novelty (unusable at drive-up bank ATMs or fast food pick-up windows) if it really is structurally solid and mechanically sound with just paint patina. Dennis

Rusty Fairlady for $28k?
Seller mentions "natural patina on paint". It appears that patina was applied to the hood by a large immovable object. Dennis

Just another Targa video.
Might have to make an audio recording of that and play it really loud when I'm driving my Z. Dennis
