  1. Please don't tell me your going to the "other side" by ricing that thing up!!!! I like the neons for what they are... good looking economy cars. I used to travel through West Texas a lot for work and the rental was almost always a neon. I'd put 1500 miles on that car from Monday at noon to Friday at 2pm (El Paso to Amarillo and EVERYPLACE inbetween). The neon is a hell of a lot more comfortable than my wifes @#$%@$%%^&**^$ Jetta! A ton cheaper as well.
  2. AHHH another person on eBay trying to rip people off. Yes eBay is a greeat thing but it is chock full of people who are out to strictly rip people off. I won't go into the things that are wrong with this ad other than the use has zero feedback. It makes me think he is up to something. I'd never list something at that price unless I had some feedback to give the bidder confidence.
  3. I sent Carl Beck an email asking him to look at this and help us out. You've got me wondering what it is now!
  4. My problem isn't being able to afford one.... I could live thge American dream and finance it for 7 years which is becoming the norm. My problem is that IMHO it is butt ugly AND we were promised a Z not some modern day looking sports car that is built under both the Nissan and Infinity name. The rest of the automakers are able to produce retro style cars why can't Nissan? I'll tell you why. Because some marketing bimbo in her 20's didn't think it would sell. See an old post that explains it :http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4956 I'm off my soap box now, I just felt I had to defend my comments. I ealize some people like it and good for them. If we all had the same taste in cars it would make driving boring.
  5. Your going on the assumption that these cars will last 30 years!!! I'll take it one step further, I'll be saying "blahhh another blasted 350"
  6. Now being one of the few on this site (so it seems) who is RIGHT minded I will admit that I had a small chuckle at the first one........... but that second one had me laughing so hard I almost fell of my chair! yes the pun is intended.
  7. Arizona240z posted a gallery image in Unique Zcars
  8. Refresh, restore or rebuild (whatever is needed) and LEAVE IT STOCK!!!! Ok, add an air conditioner, possibly an air dam/spoiler (bre style), maybe put a 5 speed and a 280Z engine it it but that's it. Don't mess with the beauty lines. Don't paint it an ugly color. Don't turn it into something it's not. For heavens sake if you want to do something like that buy a 280Z and do it. Not that I'd recommend it but at least the supply of 280's is larger than the 240Z. :stupid:
  9. Bravo.. that's what ya get for golfing when ya should be working
  10. She looks good! Better an automatic Z than a cruiser Zx
  11. There must be another intro thread floating out there but oh well.... I'm Dwight, 33, married to a woman that loves me and just rolls her eyes at my Z infatuation a lot. It doesn't help that she is pregnant and ready to go at the moment. I live in Chandler Arizona and work for Insight selling IT hardware, software and services (read, if you need anything let me know, I'll put the commision I make to the Z). I grew up in Florida (Sarasota and Orlando) and spent some time just north of Atlanta Georgia (trying to get back). My first Z was a 1973 that I got in 1988, I "refreshed" her and drove her until somewhere around 1993.... My heart still aches. My current Z is a badly oxidized 72 that needs much TLC but I can't bring myself to stop driving it long enough to get things done. I bought her in November and will probably get it in the garage try "refresh" in the fall. The wife drives a @#%^&$^^&%*((%$@!#@@#$ 98 Jetta. It's actually been a good car I just HATE it. I also have a 95 Sonoma that is "suppossed" to be my daily driver. The current family includes a cat and 2 dogs. The above mentioned ankle biter is due the beginning of July. That's enough of me........... next!

99% of the time it's at home I'll check in once in a while at work. I'm online all day at work, you'd think the last thing I want to do at night is look at a monitor.
  13. He had it towed into he shop so we'll see what was the issue.... I'll let you guys know. Thanks
  14. Got a guy at work with his 77 FI (looks fairly stock) overheating.... It's hitting the 250 mark in about 5-8 minutes (it's in the 90's today). Replaced the cap, put in some stop leak and still no better. What do yo guys think? It is holding pressure (I bumped the over flow bottle and the cap flew off. The water wasn't super hot, I was able to hold my hand in the water as it shot out. Could it be a stuck thermostat? A little water was forcing itself out through the neck of the new cap. Hoping to get this solved ASAP.
  15. Do I get a bulk discount for signing my wife up for all those classes???? p.s. much better than that last attempt at a joke Ozzy posted!
  16. Grease them up good and keep them that way and they should be fine. When I bought 240Z in November, they were bone dry for who knows how long... I greased them up and they are fine now. I think everybody has made a mistake or two like that in their life. It's called DOH! learning...... because when you realize what you've done you say DOH!
  17. Your not alone.... I haven't seen it and I refuse to see it. From what I can tell, Mitsubishi put a lot of money into this thing they call a movie. I'm willing to bet it ends up being nothing but a 90 minute commercial for them. Just my opinion........ I could be wrong.
  18. From Victor: You got it wrong........ if you drive faster, the air will lift the car just a bit, therefore making the car lighter on the road, reducing drag from tire/road friction thus increasing the MPG. This "lighter" weight on the road will also save treadware on the tires, making them last longer and saving even more money. Sounds good doesn't it? Seriously, 17 in the city ain't bad... stop and go, stop and go. I'm also assuming that since the car is new you are gunning it from light to light just for the excitement :classic: Fill the car up, get her on the freeway and run her empty, fill her up again and then check.
  19. welcome to the gang.... you'll find a lot of knowledge with the guys on this site (and gals). search the forums for answers and if you don't find an answer post a question to the applicable forum. Get that 280ZX fixed up and I'll be willing to bet you sell the Eclipse because you don't drive it anymore. I'd suggest signing up for the email list but that tends to be geared more toward the earlier Z's but you might catch some help there.
  20. Was she on a phone, applying makeup or just not paying attention?
  21. I don't want to make anyone look stupid but come on.... what do we all love to drive? A coupe!!! meaning 2 door....... just because the car has been reduced to half it's size, doesn't make it a 2 door. Possibly a caddy. I can't decide if those are hubcaps or the real deal (the front one is still on which makes me think it's the real deal but they look crappy to me). My vote is for a Caprice or Delta 88. I'm leaning on the Caprice side. that rear driver's side window looks farmiliar.... I think I've looked out that window a time or two in an old cop car.

The old man has one on his 71....... it hasn't seen the light of day since the early 90's (I'm scared to go look at it). It was great for pulling a small trailer of trash to the dump, a tiny uhaul trailer with a piano in it and stuff like that. I'd do it if I needed something to haul a few 2x4's from home depot or something like that but I don't think I'd be brave enough to hook up a boat to it.
  23. :classic: Makes my day to know everything worked out!

I love my wife but she's due in 7 weeks and moody....... I find myself spend more time with the Z just to stay out of trouble!
  25. Hey guys..... can anybody answer this???? I'm the one that sold these and I want to make sure Victor doesn't get jipped. I had bought them off EBay in November, never got around to installing them and I'm trying to clean out the house to get ready to move. I'm not having any luck getting touch with the guy I bought them from so I can't get the part numbers.
