2Many and Mike both have rare Z's.....because they have rarely been on the road!!! ROFL Sorry I couldn't resist.

I had the same problem with mine yesterday. They all worked before I put them up on the roof. After I got them up one strand was dead and 2 were half dead. I fixed it buy throwing the damn things out and putting up other lights......... after I spent an hour trying to fix them. That is the only fix I know of.

If they don't state the shipping charges, ask them before you bid that way you can bid or not bid with knowledge. For what it's worth just about any item you order online or in a catalog is going to have about a 40-50%markup in what they pay for shipping unless they are running a "free shipping" promo.

I'm with 2Many on this one..... rent a tow dolly, they work great. Unless you plan on towing the car all the time, you'll spend more time and energy trying to make something than it would be worth in my opinion. If you do plan on towing it quite a bit for any reason get a flatbed trailer.

I was flipping channels and thought I'd check it out........ There were several older Z's as well as most of the Datsun line in the background in the garage. The mute button would improve this show a ton! The only show on the channel I like is the Joe Scmoe show

Did anybody happen to catch The Super 2ner show today (Sept 28) on the Spike network? I flipped it on with 10 minutes to go only to find out they were doing the show from what looked like the Nissan Garage in California. I guess the whole show was on the history of Nissan racing. The hosts of the show seem to be annoying little rice boys but I wish I had known the topic so I could have set it up to record. I've set all the episodes running this week to record hoping they replay it. :stupid: If you saw it let us know if they covered the real Z :cheeky:

240Z's did come with Vinyl tops....... not a lot of them did but it was possible to get them that way. If they came from the factory like that or not I'm not sure (I think they did). IMHO, depending on the color of the car a vinyl top can look damn good. The old man's Z is white and has one and I love the way it looks. I've also seen the vinyl on other color Z's or done to where the vinyl covers the hatch (has to be aftermarket) and it looks like crap. But vinyl on a white 240 can look nice! With that said, most of the guys have chosen to leave the vinyl off because of rust issues and taste preference.

We gotta bring this poll back after the economy rebounds...... I wonder how many of us have taken significant pay losses because of the recession. I know we have...... about a 50% pay loss and that ain't fun.

Stay away from MAACO and the othe production line shops.... I had my first 240 done at Maaco. when I went to pick it up I made them strip it down and repaint it.... orange peel on the sides, a pool of paint on the hood and swirl marks on the hatch (it looked like someone took a dremel to it). 8 months later it looked so crappy I took it to a pro and had it redone, I wasted a tone of money because I took it to MAACO first. Get a couple of other quotes from some shops. If you have a local Z club, ask the members who they've used, if not find a local car clubs website and ask them.
