  1. @w3wilkes @KenFirch heres that euro tube installed. Came out super sweet. And Wilkes you asked if it was a ztherapy and I think it might be now that I have an up close look. It has their polished look to it in my opinion. I'm cleaning and readying the carbs for the last step, hopefully attempt to start it this weekend. I'm going to atytempt to time it, balance, and adjust the mixture so fingers crossed its my first time lol.
  2. So bearish.. global uncertainty, high interest rates and a weak classic car market are all factors driving lower prices right now. I think long term S30z's appeal to multiple generations, in part because they were cheap for so long. So many people got to experience and enjoy them. I think you'll see prices jump back up again once inflation is tamed. Rates go lower and global geopolitics improves (fingers crossed).
  3. Odd, I don't see the lower part on eBay at all. Lots of the upper striker and dove tails but not the popper part. I have some used ones if you are interested.
  4. ZH, That's a picture I pulled off the internet for reference. I wanted to know if he could move the arm shown in the photograph manually. Jeff
  5. Well for the bottom part, reach out to Junkyard Jenny. https://junkyardjenny.com/
  6. I believe he is looking for the spring stopper that bolts to the bottom not the actual latch strike itself. I found these. A decent price if they really exist https://www.2040-parts.com/datsun-240z-door-latch-hardware-i1141977/
  7. You are correct. I remember building early L series engines using the later (73) pistons…..all that was available. The pistons would come out if I recall fifteen thousands of an inch. The books call for sixty thousands of an inch clearance. OK with the open chamber head but closer with the early E88 and E31 heads. They worked with the early heads, but it made you wonder. 🤞
  8. Damn that looks nice, really cleans up the look!
  9. I see that in the product description on their website, however I don't see any info on those as options or what brands would work with them.
  10. They are $65 ea- metal weatherproof boxes & in use covers end up being about $30 ea, then I'd have to buy some sort of secure mounting arrangement, so in the end these seem 'reasonable' 🤪 18" seems to be standard for PVC conduit - so I figured I dig a little deeper, just to make sure I don't run afoul of my town codes.
  11. Diplomatic and pragmatic. However I've got a hunch that a stickler like yourself would have a nice set of JIS screwdrivers in a secret compartment in his toolbox. Your secret's safe with me... I've known Len for something over 25 years at least. You'll be pleased to hear he's in fine form but still getting used to the peculiarities in character of his recently restored HLS30U, which he says were something of a shock to the senses after 40+ years of S30-series Zs with their steering wheel on the right side... 🙂
  12. Ok, 14 years ago is making me feel older than I am. Thanks for digging that back up. I have forsaken the Kia strips for a McMaster Carr near equivalent. I buy this stuff by the 100ft rolls and have installed plenty on local cars for several years with happy customers. https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/130/3984/1120A822 Latest idea (So far untested…) is to replace the front vertical section of that strip with one with a smaller bulb. This might help the initial tightness and a bit thick WS that makes the doors hard to close for a while. The binding we all hate is from the front vertical area of the door. I can confirm this from observation. Apparently the OEM seals were thinner in this area.
