  1. Unfortunately, I can't live with it the way it is. It's noticeable on both ends of the corner valance. I appreciate all the responses, without this group, I would have never come this far.
  2. True, but sites like Jauce let you buy NOS parts and other rare parts, if you want, like I do, its the price that needs paid, otherwise there wouldn't be any restoration.
  3. I would remove the ballast resistor and install a 3 -ohm coil, and then disconnect the choke cables completely and then use the color tune and rebalance the carbs !
  4. Could you take a die grinder and thin the inside of the scoop to make the valance line up?
  5. SO, in driving long distances in the heavy rain, I found the car handles very well. What I also found is that when I switched to defrost to clear the windshield fogging, the heat comes on. Is that a normal function of the Z system? If so, I'll have to figure out a way around it
  6. Thanks for all the replies! I sprung for this set: https://www.jauce.com/auction/b1143807861 A complete OEM set - that is $289 plus shipping I also found this little gem: https://www.jauce.com/auction/d1147578027 That was $34 plus shipping. Now, how to get them here from Japan in 2 weeks!
  7. I think it's across the whole classic car market, not just Z's. I follow some of the older muscle cars and other sports cars like the Sunbeams. Many are going RNM. Ya gotta put those speed parts in there! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1975-datsun-280z-54/
  8. Thanks everyone. I will probably take a short break here and then work on another. I really enjoy the entire restoration process. It's nice to have a hobby that you truly enjoy. Have a Happy New Year everyone 😊
