You can make one very easily with two 8mm eye terminals. It is about 10cm long iirc

There is a wire with two round eye terminal about 15cm long. It connects under the efm and to one of the mounting bolts. It grounds the afm because the afm is mounted with rubber vibration dampers and rubber hoses. The air passing through it can built up static electricity and effect the circuits. You can see it in this photo

what is interesting to note is the thermistor did exactly what Dr Dave had when I used water (just in case that got lost in all my post). I attribute this to poor fluid flow perhaps due to surface tension. If Dr. Dave wants to try it I will be happy to send him this one, I would like to test a bit more, but at this point the best test would be to install in a car that has a top loader (mine is a side loader). If it does not work in Dr Daves car would assume he is driving around with 1/2 tank of water. If she weighs the same as a duck then she is a witch (a man of science) .

It sounds like empty bowls to me. Check the float bowl level with a clear tube. Don't just measure something mechanical on the float itself and assume that will result in a correct level. You actually have to measure the level directly. Do you have the little screen filters in the carbs? Maybe they're clogged?
