  3. I'm going to Mesquite Texas in the next day or so to pick up a $20,000 Oyler bar b que pit made by J&R Manufacturing. But unable to make ZCON. I'll leave a trail of empty beers to find my way back just in case.
  4. That tank probably won't fit -it's to wide. With your skills you could easily fix any tank. I went with a CJ5 tank but I wanted a centered tank to run dual exhausts-AND I wanted to be able to fill from the original door.
  5. Well, It looks like we are good for me to pick up this Z. I will need to contact the owner and work out arrangements....aahhh the concessions. She said that I should see if i can put a deposit down on the car and pick it up in a couple months when we have more room. If not, I will have to see about working out a storage location with Montezuma. And she want some house upgrades done as well....concessions, So, I have to be completely honest here. The love of my wife's life is her 1 year old grand nephew. We are not grandparents ...yet...so I guess she is practicing with the grand nephew. She asked about putting together our kids old hobby horse which had been stored for years, in pieces, up in the garage rafters. She wants to give it to her grand nephew for his first birthday. So instead of doing car stuff on Sunday, I surprised her with the completely restored hobby horse. I even put clear plastic over the springs to prevent finger pinch. Anyway, she was just thrilled to death about this. I figured this was necessary to make sure she was in a very good mood. I showed her pics of the car this AM and she really liked it. So, very happy with all this. I will try and work out some time where we can drive out to the sellers place in the roadster and see the car. Maybe next weekend. Will keep things updated as it progresses here. .
  6. You could block the hose and see what happens. Even carb'ed cars have a fast idle mechanism on the linkage. Best case you'd have a low idle for a while and the engine would not die while you waited. I've read a few articles that suggest that warming up engines is not really beneficial. Once oil pressure is up the best way to get the engine to operating temperature is to drive it, at light load. Letting it run at cold engine temperatures actually puts more wear on the parts, because the gaps are wider and there's more unburned fuel washing away the lubricating oil.

  9. This will be great fun! We (S30Driver and Zup) are to embark at daybreak on Monday the 19th and should be there late that evening at the event hotel and staying for the duration. Absolutely eagerly anticipate seeing the Memphis gang again and making new acquaintances and friendships to last our lifetime. Our thoughts and hopes for safe and memorable travel are with every one of you. SEE YOU THERE!!!!!

  11. WOW Janet and I loved Fredericksburg. Very cool town. We are looking forward to homemade peach ice cream at a small vegetable stand on the eastern outskirts. We will be down on the Saturday.... probably head to San Antonio on Sunday and Fburg on Monday. Looking forward to seeing y'all!
  12. Hi , thank you for the information, the shafts are notorious when they are getting old, I want to check my SUs after seeing your reply. And also some car magazines reported on "new car test" , the throttle pedal was sticky. My blue 240Z had same sticky throttle problem when it was restored like new . Maybe ball joint linkage? Kats
