  1. ^ You know I'm not sure why OER/SK triples haven't caught on more than they have, they are easier to adjust and tune than Webers with the external float adjustment and external accelerator pump screws. Although there can be some confusion with the original emulsion tubes and jets that the early models were equipped with they will also accept any of the the Weber e-tubes and jets so that problem can be avoided. They offer a kit to reverse the direction of the 'choke' pull and a kit to fuel inject them if you want to. They are not cheap, that's draw back. I don't have my set anymore but was very pleased with them. @Blue is now 240260280 knows as much or more than anyone about SKs

  3. success! and it was the nut after all that came off. So now I can continue with the manifold removal. I put it back on for now after using some anti seize compound. Now it goes on and comes off easy.
  4. I also pulled and cleaned combination switch, nothing appears corroded, loose or broken. Also did ground test at combination connector, GL to GW and it shows grounded past switch, do I assume switch is good, in advance thanks for the help, I have worked on many old vehicles, this is first Z . It is my sons and I am trying to get street legal for my son when he returns from Marines. This was a project of his before he signed up.

Having lost Sully and Claire within the last two years, so sad to hear. I know the feeling---big empty spot---your life isn't the same. Give it some time Jai---the sorrow fades in intensity and memories of the good times together remain forever. You gave Deanna a wonderful life, she blessed yours.

  7. Hi Blue, nice pictures! I bought the Australian HS30 with Kimono dressed girl on ebay, but I am not happy the quality of print. Yours are very high resolution, nice. Do not you think the HS30 sits high in front? The chrome mirror, it is unique but I like door mirror much more. The Brussels car. Looks like its rear is quite high , as if the car was jacked up then lowerd to the floor. Both cars should have normal suspention compornents. The safari gold Car Magazine Nov 1970 car, might have Current Europe version suspention(same spring rate and F/R stabilizer as Z432), but not lowered front. For us, we know Mr.Goertz had nothing to do with S30 styling. He showed how to make a clay model in general. Nissan designers knew a lot of fantastic sports cars out there , they wanted to make a cool sports car for their own. And they had never seen A550X(Mr.Goertz's study) at that time. Only very a few people saw that but it had never been looked atrractive. April 16th 2015, Mr.Tamura passed away. I still can not post everything from his letter, it is too heavy to do that, but when the time comes, I will do one by one. Kats
  8. Hey Kats, RE: Spare tyre hold down fastener/clamp I had assumed mine was not correct for the car, but after the information you shared I'm guessing it's possible it was fitted by the dealer or sourced from a roadster as you mentioned (I've never checked a Roadster's spare wheel to verify this, but will now that you mention it). The hotwire wheel you saw in the boot of HS30 00150 may have very well been fitted by a local dealer, the wheels are made by a company called Aunger who did a lot of automotive accessories back in the 70s / 80s including the very popular at the time Aunger Hotwires. Below is a photo of the car just after I bought it. I have seen many Australian 240z/260z's with these wheels, my guess it that perhaps the dealer fitted these wheels when the car arrived (removed the Topy spare sadly) and used this type of hold down fastener when the original topy version didn't work.
  9. Thanks Mike B. I would welcome a distraction right now. The shop I use is 100 miles away in Tucson, so, emails and phone calls would take care of everything in the reproduction process except the final choice of decal material. That's a match I would do personally at the shop. There are always corrections that must be addresses but that is challenge of an authentic reproduction. I'm sure zingy can do a fine job, but, should he not be able to get these done for whatever reason, I would be happy to give it a try. Dan
  10. Thanks for the offer Dan, but I don't want you to have to worry about this while you're recovering. It sounded like 240ziggy has the ability to reproduce these. Yours turned out great. Maybe ziggy can post a pic of something similar that he has done in the past. I think you mentioned previously that it took a lot of effort on your part to get the font and metalic foil right. I'll post the requested pictures this weekend and have an original I can mail out if needed. Hope you have a speedy recovery Dan. Sent from my SM-G935P using Classic Zcar Club mobile

  12. 7TooZ, Captain Obvious, Zup, Jfa.series1, Your concern and best wishes for my recovery is very much appreciated. It is heartening to occasionally be reminded that this is not only a society of Z enthusiasts, but, also, of just real good people. Dan
  13. Today's work, My blue 240Z is now a daily driver, once it was like new , but not now. I replaced a thermo switch , and checked SU chambers. They were needed to be fixed,I enjoyed it . Kats
  14. Hi Kats. I love your 240ZG! I have a few US sales guides not as cool as your though. Small pocket guides from 1971 and 1979 and a large binder from a sales training course. It has several pages of handwritten notes from the person taking the class and also the end of class test. There is also a 1973 new product guide in the binder so i think the course is also from 1973. The 1971 and 1973 guides have sections on the 240z. The 1971 pocket guide is mostly specs for the cars, but the 1973 guide has a page of sales tips too. Sent from my SM-T377P using Classic Zcar Club mobile

  18. I had to replace the baffle on my Z because PO had it removed for media blasting prior to polishing. A good idea, but they forget to put the old part back on. Idiots!!. I bought a donor VC just to get the old baffle plate. Of course I had to remove the factory epoxy. Seals the baffle to the VC a bit more, and keeps the mounting screws from falling out. But really, the Epoxy is overkill as far as oil spray getting past the baffle. You can chip out the old Epoxy fairly easily if needed. You do not need to re-apply any Epoxy. Nissan's idea of belt and suspenders as mentioned. There are small screws hiding under the Epoxy that attach the baffle to the VC. The Epoxy does keep the screws from vibrating loose. Make sure you use a thread Locking compound on the screws when you re-install them. Medium strength " Blue Loctite " is fine.
