  1. It's been 6 months sitting in a storage unit. After some great thanksgiving family time, I pulled the Z out and dusted her off. A few pounds of air in the tires and a tank of super, I was off with my son. Best part of the ride is when my son looks at me and says "don't ever sell this car". 2. Okay, I worked on another valve cover this past week. My technique is improving.

Hi, I'm into Datsun's, RX-7's and aircooled VW's. I own a '73 240Z two RX-7's and a Beetle. I love Datsun's in general. I'm pretty much obsessed with my Z car and I'm gradually adding to it and getting it closer to how I want it to be. I post pics of all my cars and other stupid stuff on Instagram quite a bit. The main thing is to enjoy the cars as much and as often as possible.
  4. My Panelbeater asked for some Budget to continue his work, and since it's really going on nicely lately i happily brought hime some of my savings While there i had a look at the latest work, of course. You have to make sure you're money is well invested After inspecting the recently completed upper end of the rear he showed me a mock-up of the right side rear inner wheel wells and some problem areas. The tabco pieces really do not fit very well, but he will make them fit. I've seen worse And while there he was preparing the door to fit them back to the car for future fitment testing of his work around the right side. You can see the thin line on the door? he noticed that little line (edge) was gone due to some previous repairs and straightened everything and made sure the thin line is back in t he door. Most people wouldn't even notice. And then he closed the holes of the original door mirrors, because i'll go with fender mirrors
  5. Well after we got it running right, eventually the head gasket blew and starting burning oil and coolant. We picked up the swap for a really good price, and it came with the rear sump oil pan and an aftermarket ecu. It's an rb20det out of a skyline. We used the 280z motor mounts, transmission mount and driveshaft.
  6. Here are a few pictures of the coil and fuse for reference. I can take measurements of various bits if that helps. That's a 2A fuse BTW. The coil seems to be a nail-like core, with a black insulating cover, then coils of copper wire connected to the nail head and spring to electrically connect it through. Sorry, no, you can't have this one.....
  7. Kats, that's some serious Z porn there. I am in the last stages of a complete refurbish of my 72 and will be posting the entire process soon. It has been a labor of love and I am fortunate to have the assistance of Rolly the " Zombie" Alberto personally assisting my endeavor. Rolly is one of the foremost authorities on 4-6 cylinder engines and has built and raced some of the best cars while in the Philippines. He builds drifters and can get every available HP out of his engines. He is in Houston now and watching him work is like watching Rembrandt paint. Can't wait to post the result for the Z community. 8. Hello Courtney , I saw your post regarding the part you need and your planned conversion to the earlier carbs. I have the part and can send it to you---I'm in Arkansas. @zKars (Jim Karst) is in Alberta, Canada so it may be simpler for me to do than he. Jim and I know each other. I too have a 73 240z. I am currently running it with the earlier carbs. I purchased a rebuilt set from Ztherapy. They do excellent work, but they don't work on the flat top 73 carbs. Do you still have your flat top carb setup? Is it complete? The reason I ask---- I am converting back to the stock 73 setup with the flat top carbs. Everyone thinks I'm nuts---but that is how my car was originally set up and I am going back to it. I am particularly interested in finding the original thermostat housing and associated braided hoses that connect to the intake manifold. I have virtually everything else. If you are interested in parting with any or all of your original carb setup let me know and maybe we can do each other some good. It may help defray any expenses you are incurring in the changeover and help me get back to original. Attached is a photo of my current setup---I think this is where you want to be when you are done. If you want to go explore this further let me know---the part is yours regardless---I just need your mailing address. Respectfully, Jim Daniels "Zup"

  11. Zcar fiesta at Oppama factory I spent wonderful time with so many Zcar owners .Total 900miles driving was pretty happy , but on the way home was in a heavy rain, my Z432 likes rain... Mr. Matsuo is doing well , he said he and some design teem members made a world round trip just after finishing S30 styling ( it was late 1968) . Nissan gave this prize to designers who's work became production model. The trip for visiting world's famous motor show. That was a special treatment , Mr. Matsuo was not for sure that his request was accepted or not, because usually a few motor shows were considered . But he made a bid, he requested Paris , London, Frankfurt, Milano, Newyork and the last one was Los Angels. His request was accepted! Mr.Matsuo met Mr.K in LA , he showed a photo of 2+2 prototype to Mr.K , Mr.K was amaized about it but he was told "forget about making 2+2 for now , I want the 2 seater as soon as possible! " Kats PS The green S30 and the gentleman next to it is Mr. Kawashima, he rebuilt transmission for my Z432.
  12. Hello Kats, Excellent detective work! I was looking in the earlier parts lists, so I didn't see the number there. Clearly they missed a few things out from the first versions and included them in the later editions. I feel happier about bending my horn mount brackets to clear the PZR oil cooler now... Was great to see you at Oppama on Saturday, and then again yesterday at the Club S30 20-year meeting. Always so fun and interesting to talk with you, and so happy to see your car again. I hope you got home OK after that long drive. Best wishes, Alan T.
  13. Out of the mouths of babes...
  14. Z432-R BRACKET-horn , Alan, I was not for sure its part number while we were talking about, but I was feeling I might see it before. And here it is, I found it in Air-conditioning section. There is no illustration , only a description. It does not indicate for "PZR" , it says "(op.) ALL" , but we see E7200 as a model designation. I think this bracket was originally made for PZR( Z432-R) because it has got E7200 as a part number. We need to see more examples to confirm its true shape. Kats

  16. My 2 year old granddaughter likes to go for "rides" in the garage in mine. She " drives" for a while the wants me to "drive". We put the seat belts on, too. She loves to turn the lights on and off, put the radio antenna up and down and look through the glove box. Also loves to get in the back and hang out. When I had my car gone for some work she came into the garage and gave me the "look"..." Grampa, where's my car?" I was thinking of selling it, but I'm not so sure now. Another Z car generation. Gotta love it. Cheers, Mike
  17. After 8 years of the same wheels - I thought it was time for a change........
