well it has been a while since i posted anything, but i have gotten quite a bit done. the body and doors are ready for paint. i hope to have that done in the next couple of weeks before the weather warms up and the bugs come out all bodywork done, and black epoxy applied before primer and blocking primer over black epoxy block sanding. the darker area is guide-cote by 3M. it leaves a dark spot in any low spot while sanding. those few spots get filled with glazing putty and re-sanded new battery tray all welded up cowl area rubber sealed. there wasnt any rust here but this stuff will seal against any leaks
  2. and once again we head down the rabbit hole...
  3. Well decided, after reading lots of stuff about valve size, to upsize the intake valves to the 44mm . Opinions vary, but it seems that I'm leaving an easy 20+ hp on the table by not upsizing. Found some new old stock valves and seats on eBay for cheap and snagged them. The head is at the machinist now , so I might see it before summer is over. Should give me plenty of time to get my block together . Still haven't got the cam ,but that's next.
  4. Plenty of space on the property to bury bodies. Could be how he acquired some of those cars. Just set a lure on Craigslist and sit back and wait for a bite. This has all the elements of a "Silence of the Lambs" type movie thriller. Anyone care to add to the story? Dennis
  5. Looks like a nice garden of bud. https://www.google.com/maps/@47.6980571,-117.3476896,35m/data=!3m1!1e3
  6. The gas gauge was on empty, but I figured I had enough to go to the grocery store first, then to the gas station. So I'm heading to the store when the fuel pressure gauge starts going nuts. No engine stalling or other indication except from the gauge. I guess there was enough gas in the float bowl to keep it running although it was intermittently sucking up air. Went to the gas station first instead, put some gas and no more problem.
  7. Haz, I put a 4:11 R 180 from a 200SX in mine. Loved the acceleration, especially in 3rd and 4th. Then I decided to replace it with a 3:54 for lower rpms at higher speeds. BIG mistake. Way too much shifting in the canyons and twisties. So, I will go back to the 4:11 when the garage floor warms up a bit more. Yes, the rpms are higher with the lower gearing, but I don't drive it at those high speeds over 90 much any more, and I do drive the canyons and twisties. My friend, Kenny, has a 3:90 R 180 from a Datsun pickup front axle and I can pull him just barely. Some on here have done the Subaru LSD 3:90 swap and are happy with it, but it possibly involves new half shafts and adapters...too much for me. Just sayin' Cheers, Mike

On my birthday yesterday I got a little toy mustang, and made this cool photo !
  9. Never run either of those diffs, but can tell you I'm running one car with a 3:54 diff in an L28 with a 240Z crank and rods and at 60 mph on the highway, I'm turning 3000 rpm's .......not good for long term cruising. I would err on the 3.90 side IMO.
  10. I find that on most series 1 wheels you don't really need a stain if you get them really clean. Just a GOOD cleaning, a proper regimen of careful sanding, and a proper application of your choice of semi-gloss, or gloss, spar urethane. The series 2 wheels seem a bit different. The one I just did, required bleaching, and a red stain, but I learn as I go. I will be listing this series 2, I just finished tonight.
  11. Do the headliner first, then the headliner skirt, A pillars, then windshield. A big piece of cardbord on the floor will keep the bruises to a minimum. Those few things will have you doing gymnastics inside the car, you'll be glad you don't have anything in there to get scuffed up.
  12. I live in Spokane, you couldn't pay me to go into that neighborhood.
  13. If you want international customers to be more interested, remove the global shipping... It adds $70 cdn to the order for no reason (duty?). Direct shipping does not incur these charges. That and eBay charges a fortune for the shipping regardless. ($63 cdn) Other than that... Drool!
  14. Thanks Charles! My frame still has the remnants of the old parts so I should be good.
