Where did you get your heater core hoses, please sir. The work you're doing amazes me. Is this your 1st restore?

Oh yeah, what are you gonna do for the bumpers? futofab.com has some 240Z black powder coated ones for $240, haven't seen the sheen yet but the semi gloss you're using would work for me. Look at post #13, http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/body-paint-s30/53303-msa-fiberglass-bumpers.html

Thanks,

Cliff

Started assembling my door glass. Polished them up a little to take some of the fine scratches out.

Freshly plated hardware

Now I need to source some new window regulators because I had mine plated and it destroyed the plastic rollers and the crank mechanism in the process :disappoin

Did you have the name of the company that did the plating work for you?

is in this list (pics) with the plated screws those for drivetrain and underbody included? you must have had a lot of time to measure all..

Nice Info

Yeah pretty much the whole car and then some. There are a few specialty bolts that I had to have plated or I just reused.

After a much needed week long vacay in Maui, I'm back to work on the Z. I focused my attention on the lights and the rear area of the car.

Pretty rough shape.

Installed new bulbs.

post-29861-14150830647454_thumb.jpg

Purchased some cleaner chrome bezels off Ebay. I still may get mine replated in the future.

And.......Walahhh!

post-29861-14150830648325_thumb.jpg

On to the front turn signals. I purchased the 240Z turn signals off Ebay as well. I got them fairly cheap but they were rough. The lenses were in decent shape though.

First I disassembled them and soaked everything in degreaser overnight.

post-29861-14150830649387_thumb.jpg

As you can see, it stripped the chrome off of reflector piece. So I got some chrome vinyl wrap and covered it.

Turned out pretty good I think. Hopefully it holds up to the heat.

post-29861-14150830650198_thumb.jpg

Cleaned everything up and reassembled.

post-29861-14150830650551_thumb.jpg

Also polished up the lenses.

Amazing job Haz! Did you use the gunmetal spray from SEM? Its what I used and then I sprayed them with a satin clear also from SEM.

Amazing what a little polish and a buffing wheel will do! Those lenses look awesome!

Oh, what was wrong with the precision hatch seal....I need a new one.

Your project is coming along nicly. Really looking good. Nice job on the lenses. My taillights were just as bad and the chrome bezels were painted black by the po. I have a set of 240Z lenses for the front, just haven't got around to doing the air dam yet. Ended up cleaning up the 280 units in the grill. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/electrical-s30/50956-280z-front-turn-signal-refresh.html

Looking forward to seeing the projects journey to completion.

Thank you sir. I actually ended up using a wheel paint that I had. The color matched pretty good. The seal from the kit seemed like it was too thick and the hatch didnt want to close very well. The OEM one is still a little thick but its better. I think it just needs to be broken in.

Thanks Chas! Are you doing the 240 bumper as well?
