240Z in movies

I remember a few years ago my younger two kids were watching either TV Land or Cartoon Network or one of these channels and an old forgotten show called "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters" from the early-to-mid '70's was on. I vaguely remember this show as a kid. It had Johnny Whitaker from the old "Family Affair" TV show and some other blond kid. Anyways, the episode I saw a few moments of had Johnny and the blond kid secretly escorting a green sea monster across the street in what looked like a small California coastal town. They walked by a 240Z that was parked on the street.

I'm still watching "DILIRIOUS" with John Candy and Merial Hemmingway. Comedy Central (Ch 60) Made in 1991. 1 hour? into the movie, John Candy offers his Ferreri 250 GTO for a fund raising auction.

It's a 240Z / 250 GTO Replica, but it's a beautiful one. Just look at the door to fender lines. They drive the car for about five minutes of the movies, some of the driving is done blind folded, thru curvy twisting mountain roads, with a lot of sliding around corners. Thought I'd share and did'nt want to read thru 195? pages to see if it was mentioned already.

Dave.

You can watch it here: 3 minutes 10 Seconds in.

Sounds like an L-series :).

You can see a Zed in an old mythbusters episode. They drive to the abandoned naval base, probably to blow something up:geek:, the person is swerving around a whole lot; it's kinda dark, but there's no mistaking that front end. You see it later from the back near the storage container, white, with hatch louvers (240, right?). Maybe it was the chicken gun or the pigs ina vette' myth:smoke:. Never seen it again after that and the toy car myth....

On Saturdays and Sundays, if you watch the car shows on Spike, there is a Wyotech commercial with a brown 280ZX in a lot of cars inside a shop.

I think the white 280Z belongs to one of the ladies on the show. They used the car in their HOT WHEELS show as well. They lifted the back of the car with a fork lift so they could wrap the drivers side wheel with tape, and see how many MPH the hot wheels cars could handle before they lost control.

Same episode with the HOt Wheels racing a Viper, down hill. Scale racing or something.

pretty funny stuff.

How about the Mobil 1 commercial during the last few Nascar races. There is a minivan with a number on it and for a brief moment a 240Z goes by in the scene . Slotted mags and side molding is what I noticed.
