been working away on the test stand. other than an intermittent spark (think its a wire harness issue with the CAS but still need to confrim that with some more testing) all going well. I tested the idle up servo for the AC control. Works by applying a vacuum to a small hose, this allows bypass air to increase thus upping the idle speed. Works great. Question, the FSM calls 12v to be applied when the FICD is active. This goes to Pin 22. I cant for the life of me figure out what its supposed to do. If the idle up servo is work to increase the bypass air, what could the ECU add? If the ECU is only responsible for fuel mix and ignition fire and time, I would assume…

I really like the look of dual mirror symmetry and having a usable passenger side mirror.

Been around Z's a while and know most usual suspects in gas fume and exhaust issues with these cars, but...... Series 1 car, I have dropped tank, replaced all vent lines with no kinks, pressure checked expansion tank on right side, checked for fuel leaks front to back. The issue is raw gas fumes present in garage when car sits overnight, and sometimes driving with certain combinations of window configurations (drivers window down and passenger window cracked). Checked filler tube seal, filler tube vent line to expansion tank, replace PCV valve, all lines to flow valve guide are good. No exhaust fumes at all, just raw gas. The car has after market …

The "air supplier tube" is #13 in the attached diagram. What purpose does it serve? Where does it go (looks like towards the engine bay)?

My car is a 3/72 and I just reinstalled the wire harness and dash. I noticed in the manual and wiring diagram a key buzzer in the area of the pedal box. I cant find the wires that would have gone to the buzzer. Did all the 240z's have a buzzer? I just have what I believe is the flasher relay. Although, I had two wires coming out of the key switch which I would a assume would be the trigger for the buzzer. My flasher has a white wire and a green wire, as described in the wiring diagram. Buzzer is shown as Yellow and red wires. I dont think they are in my harness.

I've been working on a new product for the last six months that I'd love to get some feedback on. I've always known getting the floats in SU's set properly, and knowing for sure they were set the same in both carbs was important, but the method of doing so always seemed imprecise and less than elegant. I developed Float-Sync to know precisely where floats were set and have a visual reference, without removing the float bowl lids. On three screw SU's, there's a threaded plug in the float bowl that can be easily removed to substitute Float-Sync. The level of fuel in the float bowl dictates the level of fuel in the jet nozzle. This is a big deal for SU carburetors becau…

I’m doing some upgrades of my 240Z’s interior and would like to replace the current shifter and emergency brake boots even though they look fairly ok. I’ve seen them in vinyl and synthetic leather but can’t really tell from crappy photos online. Thanks

How important are the hatch hinge seals? They aren't cheap. Without them, does water get up into the roof pocket? Trying to determine if I really need them or not. I have a 76 280z.

Hey guys, I bought an excellent condition 1973 Datsun 240Z back in October that came with a ton of extra parts, memorabilia, and documentation of nearly everything. The person who I purchased the car from is a good friend who's currently moving out of state and found this manifold during the moving process. Can you help me identify the model? Thanks! PS: my car currently has an L28

A friend of mine bought a 260Z that was in a storage locker for 40 years. A real barn find! It was heavily modified for racing back in the 1970's and then went into storage. We pulled the engine and transmission out today and can't figure out what the transmission is. We thought it was from a roadster but it has a zcar bell housing. Here are some pics. Any information, comments or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you. -Mike
