  2. First of all, thank you for all the amazing and detailed information. Apologies for the slow response. I had a bunch of trips. So here is where I am at. Half idiot and half mystery. Idiot part-I put my phone on the Hazard light and defroster switches and turned them on. Hazards on wasn't my first instinct, because only one side was blinking. So I started diagnosing it as a blinker problem. After I disconnected the Hazard Unit to prevent it from draining the battery, the defroster still managed to kill the battery becasue I hadn't figured out it was me hitting the switches yet. So next step, solve dead battery problem. Mystery part- Both blinkers don't work (lights and dash indicators) now when actuated by the turn signal stalk. But the left one is the only one that works when the hazards are on (still does that . Fuse is good, bulbs are good. I checked the stalk before like I said and it seemed good. I can take it out again and do a pin out with an ohm meter next. Open to suggestions. Thanks, Adam

  4. A true beast, so very well thought out. Awesome work! Safari Gold rules!!!
  5. Thanks Guy, but I am disinclined to follow someone else's work in this case. In his ebay post I noted that he "modified" plastic connectors and the metal base. With all of the switches I have refurbed I have not yet found a need to modify the OE components - sometimes replaced with new or from the parts bin but never modified.

  7. Hi @HusseinHolland! Any updates on this project? Curious, if you finished the 350z tranny adaptation in your 1st gen.

It’s truly a journey. Been there and it takes awhile
  11. There's also a keyway cut into the body. It was exposed once you took out the retaining bolt and the piece of metal that holds it in place. If you have a non-ZX transmission it sucks that it's on the top but you said you could turn it. It is a place that you could try prying... Honestly, I've never seen one stuck that bad - and we've seen a lot of transmissions over the years - even series one monkey shifters.

You are correct… That pan is thick aluminum and the baffles inside are just amazing. Not sure I will make it to the track. It’s a stage 4 build from Datsun Spirit. Eiji did an amazing job.
  13. Wow! Thank you. I don't think I'll get a PDF unfortunately, but will get a Kindle version which is good... thank you so much.

I have dealt with dust boots on master cylinders like that in other applications and have sometimes had troubles getting them to fit through the hole in the firewall. Not sure if that's because they had swelled over time or if they were poor fitting aftermarket items. Bottom line? Maybe measure the hole in the firewall and see if you even have room for a boot in there before you scour the universe looking for one?
  15. This topic has already been pretty thoroughly discussed by CZCC members. Here's a good place to start...

  25. Discussions about what starter is better than others and how rebuilt starter's quality can be hit or miss have popped up from time to time. The starter on my 79 zx was getting slower and without even checking it with my multimeter I knew it was time to install a new one. I opted for the WAI new starter from Rock Auto. ($150.00 ) It arrived well packaged, including bench test results and really looked like a quality made part. I installed it yesterday and I'm really happy with it. It sounds great and really spins the engine over much faster that my old one did in years. I hope it will last!

But...the page lists all posts instead of all Topics. so there's really no need to click through since they're all right there in the list. Oh well. https://www.classiczcars.com/discover/
