Replacement Inner Rocker Panels
These pieces look awesome and you have found a good item to duplicate . All the rot usually starts there at either end of the inner rocker . Might be needing these when I tear into my other 2 Z's Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

aquisition of #22971
Thought I would share the story of finding my latest Z -2/71. So I'm on facebook looking at a club page for a local sports car club. There is a pic someone has shared of an old Nissan sitting in a junkyard. The pic only includes the engine compartment , but the pic shows someone lifting the valve cover to show off a VERY clean valve train. The post said something like,'looks like a new head". I could tell enough from the pic that this was an early Z. So my alarms go off and I immediately start trying to track down the poster. I'm wanting to know where this is, and the guy is not sure where he was(really). I guess he was cruising with friends and didn't pay attention to the name of the yard he was at. After pestering him(messaging), he came up with Dave's junkyard in some town southern Indiana-2 hours from me. So after googling I find Dave and call. So I explain to Dave that I saw a pic of an early Z on a facebook page and wanted to find out more info. Dave proceeds to ask who's facebook page did I see it on. I told him it was a local sports car club. He asks which one so he can look it up? So I'm thinking -why do you want to look at someone else's facebook page to find something in your yard. Then I come to find out his business has his own facebook page. So I spend minutes going around in circles trying to find a car on facebook pages that is probably out his back window. So I just get directions to his place because it warrants a look. I tell him I will try and get out there soon. 3 days later he calls me and says he has 2 Z cars in his lot. Not sure what years he has(though he has titles for both cars) UGH! This all occurs over the holidays . Finally I drive out there and we go back in his yard( couple hundred yards) and there it sits #22971 . The other car was a 83 zxt 2=2 Dave actually turns out to be a very nice guy just making a living and staying up with todays technology, but struggles. I bought a bunch of parts off of the car including a super clean E31 sitting on there. I didn't have the means to bring the whole car home yet, and wasn't sure about. Dave just kept saying-"I Need the money". I left with carbs, head, bumper and other stuff . After a couple of days I called Dave to see what he wanted for the whole car. Dave says-" I need the money-going on vacation". We settled on a price and I now own it. Though its sitting on the ground with no wheels, it's a fresh kill and looks to be a southern car(found a Georgia plate). Very restorable or could be cut up for excellent body parts. Now I need to go and get it. I now own 3 -240z and my wife is over the moon With no place to store them -thanks Rick for the use of your business lot.

L28 Stroker Build - I need your advice :-)
The reason I bring it up about the n42 is to make sure folks are comparing apples to apples. " I use a N42 just like Eiji " - but it's not. Welding and re shaped chambers is a whole different head that can handle higher CR with less timing . Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

L28 Stroker Build - I need your advice :-)
I would go a minimum of 480 lift. These motors love bigger cams. You won't loose any drivability either. I run 290/490 in my little 2.4 and it will put put around at 1500 rpm or rev to 7000+ when you talk about using a n42- is that with no combustion chamber alterations? Does Eiji not weld any on the chambers ?

Aftermarket ECU Megasquirt Install
Well the MS install continues on with fuel. I sold off my Mikunis and now have this N42 non EGR intake mounted up with a 240sx TB. I'm going to be using 26lb Bosch high impedance injectors on this Pallnet fuel rail. I'll be using a drop in HP fuel pump and an Aeromotive FPR. I am upgrading the fuel lines to 3/8" supply and return. No fancy AN fittings , just barb fitting and clamps. As you can see I have most of the wiring hooked up. With MS 3X and high impedance injectors it's just hook up power and ground and done. TPS is matched to the TB. It was just a matter of throwing numbers in the software to get everything jiving . I put the IAT on top where the injector use to be. I haven't decided on the coolant sensor yet as far as where to mount it. This is a MN47 head to there is a CHT sensor on the head, but its location might be an issue with my coil bracket.

Zcon 2017
That's a long way down there . My wife said she would meet me there because she would love to go to Austin. I'd also have to have a running FI engine , because I would only want to drive my car to one of these events. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Correcting for EFI mixture lag
If this is happening with an automatic and it isn't down shifting at 50- then you have a transmission issue. Make sure there are no vacuum leaks at the trans. Your right- in third gear it's not going to do much when you floor it at 45mph. By the way - there is a manual override on that year and model. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

1976 280Z Restoration Project
Looks great. I'm trying to decide my plumbing now. Not sure if I want to do all the 6an fancy stuff- but it looks cool. I have to run all new lines from the tank on my 71, so I'm starting from scratch. How many hours do you have in making that intake look that good? Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Well I don't know how to save the pic, but here's the link to the pump http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=84/category_id=61/mode=prod/prd84.htm There's a video on how to install. I remind you that I am running a non Z tank, so your results may very:) Not much of a plan but to cut a hole in the top of my tank and drop this in. No surge tank necessary.

But it's just another item you have to find space for and more places for leaks and maintenance . I thought about that route myself , but opted for the in tank option. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

I believe Dave offset grinds the crank to his preferred rod/stroke ratio. When he does the offset if creates smaller journals and he utilizes Honda rods. Your project sounds like mine. 75 intake . I just ordered my pump set up from Tank inc. it would simplify things for you if you can make it work on a z tank. No surge tank needed. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
