Yeah as you say 10 years ago vents where hot the guy i got some parts off in Nsw wanted me to put some in right or wrong but i resisted ended up fixing up on of the average bonnets and cutting the hole in it for the bug catcher the panel beater was not happy he told me he wont touch the bonnet with hte hole the first time but when i said i wanted the hole in it he weakened Must say the hole does let it all run cooler one plus Mick

you can always go the way i did and get an antenna to stick on glass put mine on top of the hatch no holes in the body to spoil the body lines antenna is only about 8" long so you hardly notice it works ok even here in tassie where we have lots of hills and few radio stations Mick

easier to hook antenna up to igintion so it goes up when you turn the car on you could use the same wire your running to the cd unit to power it if its switched by the ignition switch Mick
  5. Must say i find the yellow inserts in the door panels a little hard to take but the rest looks ok the front grill dosent work for me either Mick
  6. they look great to me would need to check offset to make sure you can run the tyres you want Only thing i would say is if your heart is really set on watanabe's then wait and get what you really want I know i wasted $1000 buying my first set of mags (rials) sweet mags looked good but where not the Simmons that i really wanted so ended up selling them for a loss and buying the simmons 10 months later Mick
  7. Not my taste but have a look and say what you think sounds Mick http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2424547026&category=35227
  8. that reminds me of when i was you and stupid had the zed tweaked up running real sweet look like $^!# but went real good crusing down the highway at about 140 km and theres two z900 bikes passing a car on double lanes there sitting on about 120 km so i pass them and the car they are passing in one sandwiching them between me and the other car they where not happy shaking there fists and started chasing me so it was pedal to the metal rest of the way home flat out hard to shake till i got into town and new the back streets better than them was fun though Keep it for the track these days but it is satisfying beating bikes on the road Mick
  9. bambikiller240 check out my gallery on third page shows engine bay and part of battery box in two shots Mick
  10. will have a look tonight see if i have a pic or get a battery for the digitial and take a picture Will take one of my custom stainless steel water bottle and brake filler caps there custom aluminium Mick
  11. just a suggestion but with my car i have built a custom stainless steel battery box and use 2 nylon straps with ratch style locks the box is rubber lined so it wont short out have Mick
  12. early motoring reports that i have read suggested that the hand throttle was there for rallying cant say i can see any great advantage in the idea but thats what i read my car is a july 70 and it either has had a later console fitted or it did not come with the hand throttle Mick
  13. I really cant see why mig welder would not be strong enough for the rotisserie i mean i build mine that way and it worked fine the thickest steel was 10 mm mild depend on mig i mean 10 mm is the limit of mine but its sweet for all body stuff and steel up to 10 mm just need a bigger mig if you want to weld thicker I really prefer the gas mig to the gasless much cleaner and can weld lighter steel easier bit of a pain outside though if its a windy day. Over here they suggest tig welding for cages Regards Mick
  14. to all you aussies has anyone found a good seller of Nissan parts who can import non australian nissan parts Dealt with Nisansport years ago they got me some parts for the V8 but have since lost there address so could use someone who can access japanese parts Must be some dealers now with all these latter non australian cars on the aussie market Maybe I just need a Japanese company who will deal with me in australia all I want is some parts for my Nissan V8 Hope someone can help Mick
  15. you can by the dellows for holden, chevs, fords and rover leyland v8's but the nissan v8 is one of a kind we used a nissan auto bellhousing and modified it to take the toyota box Mick
  16. Must say im complexed by this discussion everything you read says the more rigid controlable your suspension the better the handling I would guess nissan only used rubber when zeds were built because it was cheaper than urathane its only in the last 10 years that urathane bushings have become cheapa nd easy to get that they are being used more by manufaturers Im sure that nissan woul build zeds with it today the ride quality is better the handling is better they last longer not easily ruined by oils so all round much better I would say most flexing in bodies is through the bodies not being strengthed to take horsepower upgrades When i rebuilt my car I fully seam welded every seam in the car not flex in my zed (of course im told ill never repair it if it has a a major accident but thats a risk i have taken) Mick
  17. must say i looked twice made for a brighter day
  18. The supra boxes may not be cheap by 6 cylinder standards but they are a bargin compared to v8 manual boxes Im told there are different models the turbo box being the strongest but as i said before my old celica steel case has lasted 10 years with a mild v8 Mick
  19. I have run my v8 through a steel case celica 5 speed for 10 years no problem a friend had a supra behind a 327 chev for years with out a problem too so I would have to say that there ok myself What V8 you running Mick
  20. now thats a work of art would be fantastic conversion have seen a VL commodore done in street machine with full gtr drive train but this is awsome rminds me of my dream build Clubman style body but with 2000 style 18" rims with subaru wrx drive train and 20b rotary would handle like a dream sound unreal ultimate burnout motorkhana and go to whoa car But thats just a dream rego would be a nightmare helping a friend with a club man at the moment hard to get the sr20 very modified and still registered Maybe the Gtr 240 would be easier especially done this way Mick
  21. Changing seats in a 240 zed is quite easy really especially if your new seats have a flat bottom just unbolt your existing runners from your seats it the runners in place in the car and measure where the holes line up to mount the seat to the runners Then its up to seeing where the mounts r on your new seats you can boly some flat steel between the runners and bolt your seat to that just drill holes to match seat and bolt together all depends where you new seat bolts up if your lucky it will have similar bolt centers so this will work other wise you will need to have a welder weld an square frame up to bolt to your runners and your seat still not a big job I would steer away from replacemant seats that have mounts at different heights this would make it too hard. My seats are recaro's that we stripped and customised Mick
  22. come on now you know if your gonna do it you have to have the biggest loudess you can fit in its that simple as that Must say i prefer the sound of a good engine these days but in my younger days it was the louder stereo that i really liked probably why im still here today if i had had faster cars then i would have probably been wrapped around a tree Mick remeber he who dies with the most toys wins

must say for me the 3m clean and strip wheels are magic for small areas if you only doing a door or hatch or something like that they leave the metal polished clean Mick
  24. it would certianly stand out but who would want to be seen in it Mick
