  1. I wouldn't mind going back to the 70's ! I mean have things really gotten better with smartphones and the internet.. people are like zombies these days. Where's the social contact ?
  2. Carb Coolant Bypass Tube (Over as pictured here, or under the manifold nut/washer?) Under..against he head
  3. Yeah I got a rebuild set of them to. Runs great ever since, and fuel economy is actually pretty good.
  4. Sorry haven't measured that. But you mean this ?
  5. We used them to in the engine rebuild. Works great.
  6. So they all came with wood, but the leather one was optional and added at the dealership I think ? Not in the factory..

  9. I think it's more of an investement to them, so they would put it away stored somewhere. Some rich people might drive it sometimes between the storage and see it's value increase over time..
  10. I also managed to arrange repair weld in rocker panels and the lower part of the rear wheel arches, because the previous owner didn't repair that quite well. Also the joint that the rocker panel has with the rear panel ( below the door ) was not visable, but now will be.. as to original specifications. Because the car it getting a new respray anyway, we can do this. Let's do it right We didn't know of the joint the last time it was resprayed. In the mean time while waiting for the 240Z to come back from the body shop, I thought it was nice to share my story on Hagerty. https://www.hagerty.com/yourstories/2015/11/22/The-Datsun-240Z-a-legend-from-the-land-of-the-rising-sun20151122092757

  13. Seems in a good condition, engine has the earlier carbs, or could be one of the last with those carbs, so they are Original to the car. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-/262134355729?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3d086cd711:g:q7sAAOSw5ZBWQSkn&item=262134355729
  14. Looks like a good saver ? Seems Original, even the tires and steel wheels with hubcaps, engine seems Original to the car. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-/291613550371?forcerrptr=true&hash=item43e585a723:g:1QUAAOSw7hRWQidF&item=291613550371
  15. http://wd40specialist.com/products/industrial_strength_degreaser This one from WD40 is right for the job..
  16. I use a citrus based degreaser, works fine. Spray WD40 on everything electric first, this way water can't get in.
  17. Yeah it really was ! I was looking at it quite a while.. Didn't knew they had a 2000gt in their collection, you almost don't see em in personal. It's a bit smaller than the 240Z and also it's height is less..
  18. Went to the Louwman Museum yesterday in The Hague ( Den Haag ). It's a very nice collection they have, I also saw family of the 240Z..
  19. That's way to rich indeed
  20. A little update: The 240Z is getting repaired work is underway. It was really... really hard to find those spare parts.. I could not find the early style lower valances, but those are getting repaired by a professional body shop. The Original radiator is also getting a complete new core. It will take a while, but in about 4 months it should be back on the road.
  21. Great roads indeed
  22. To bad about the V8, not sure of the Original engine is still there http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-/121778781235?forcerrptr=true&hash=item1c5a94bc33&item=121778781235
  23. Love the scenery in the back on the first picture ! More more !
  24. Yeah California seems " really " strict on this subject..
