  1. This maybe?
  2. I bought mine from Futofab.com and they were plug-up and go. No changes on my end.
  3. It's a small car! I will get some nose to nose pictures with my 240. That dealership is only a mile from here. Here's my offer of his for mine, no response yet but I'll leave that on the table for ONE WEEK!😁 https://www.nissanofgadsden.com/used/Porsche/1988-Porsche-911-bd11c7e8ac181b91072054cb1839c5ba.htm
  4. My '77 has that wide B like you're talking about and I got one out of a '79 2+2 that I put in my '72 and am really happy with it. Never use 5th around here but it's a game changer on the interstate roads.
  5. Always good conversations with these. I'm ready to learn something!
  6. I thought that was the name of the Farmers union?
  7. That's a midlife crisis screaming out loud car. I'd end up wearing shoes without laces. 🤪
  8. Someone sent me photos of a Toyota g86 I think. Said they only made 860 of this 10th anniversary model. He wants to trade even. I think not but I'm going done there tomorrow in my car for some comparison pictures and to rub it in a little.😁
  9. I used Hastings on a stock 2.4 but have read a lot about oversized ITM pistons and rings. About half and half good and bad but I do know this guy named Guy that's got about five 240s with Eiji Hosomi at Datsun Spirit built motors. Top-shelf stuff, https://www.datsunspirit.com/engines. He says the best thing to do with ITM rings is trash them and use Total Seal instead. Here's a thread with some opinions... Maybe he'll see this, @Diseazd
  10. I never knew they made a black 240Z? Learned something today!
  11. That's the same as mine, door guards and all. Your paint looks a lot better though as mine has never had a respray. Yours's is my good vs bad comparison.
  12. @dutchzcarguy those are funny! The Richard Pryor baby is my favorite but it's a little coarse for all members. Héy Site, that picture reminds me of those vid's about the farm from Jeremy Clarkson, diddly squat farm.. (on Youtube) where toddlers play the rolls of all the people in the series!
  13. That's quite a puddle you have there! Move the car to a dry spot and put fresh newspaper under the area. You should be able to figure out where it's dripping from. Maybe some Teflon tape and a good tightening of the speedo cog housing where it screws into the transmission?
  14. I really don't know about auto transmissions but seems like my auto Camaro I had to check hot and in gear with the E-brake on if I'm not mistaken. Have you recently put fluid in? Could just be slight over fill? Good luck with it no matter what.
  15. From the thread, "That little Top Hat in the pictures only comes with a new Speedo cable. However all is not lost. It is just a secondary seal. You can go to home depot and get a flat rubber washer that will do the same thing. They come in various sizes and have approx a 1/8" dia inner hole." @Chickenman
  16. This has the same part number. #51 in the microfiche. Datsun Z Transmission Case & Fit...Datsun Z Transmission Case & Fitting (Automatic-3N71B) (F...
  17. I bought the seal from Nissan, p/n 32709-14600 if that's the one you need. Mine is a manual but the speedo housing should be the same. There's some more info in this thread. Here's some for sale... https://www.google.com/search?q=32709-14600&rlz=1C1VDKB_enUS1121US1121&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  18. I can't even wear a watch.
  19. What a fantastic shot! That could be a poster.
  20. I think both those GMBs are aftermarket and agree that an Aisin with the cast iron impeller will be as close to OE that you'll find today unless you can find one using the part number on this box.
  21. Here's a good read on installation for a '72. Dave's 1972 Datsun 240z: Electri...Electric Fuel Pump InstallationIn an effort to make the 240z more reliable, I've decided to upgrade to an electric fuel pump and then retire the mechanical pump. By using...
  22. I had knee surgery and am starting to fool around with my Zs. The carbed 240 was a little more trouble to start. I think the bowls had evaporated all the fuel out. For some reason I decided to hit my precious carburetors with a small tack hammer. The lord only knows how many have dents from being hit, trying to knock the floats loose. Well I saw the most obvious thing ever before I started whalopping the sides of my float bowls. Is there a chance in hell Skinner Union or Hitachi put this boss there for any other reason? I tapped them both a couple of times without leaving any marks and that little baby roared to life after getting a flow of fuel. Could Skinner Union/Hitachi have some foward thinking or did they just put a big chunk of aluminum to show the fuel level?
  23. Maybe he did what I did. Covered it from the inside? I used a piece of Gorilla tape from the inside instead of a chair leg cap on the outside. I was in a hurry, probably need to check that soon? 🤫
