L26 blowing back through the carburator
I don't see a spray bar for the cam so that heads been off before, might have missed a tooth or two when they put one back on. Just a guess though but it happened to mine. I tried and tried to get mine right. I knew my car had never been worked on, it was unmolested or so I thought. I couldn't get the distributor's tang exactly right, it was full advance and out of adjustment. I spent a day messing with it, dropping the oil pump to realign the distributors drive gear. Never got it right and drove it that way for a few months. Took the motor apart and saw where the sprocket wasn't in time with TDC, but I wanted to rebuild it anyway so parts are scattered all over my house now. But I enjoy working on them so it's no big deal to me and I'm learning. Could the firing order be off? I had a rod cap come off a 280 and had to replace the block. My Dad is a great mechanic and said a straight 6 is a straight 6. But he's a Chevy guy and had the firing order set for a Chevrolet, wouldn't start. Went to work the next day and one of his buddies said the order was different for Datsuns (late 80s no internet). Came home switched them around, fired right up and I drove that car for years. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/timing/mechtime.html

If that's TDC and it looks like it is, your cam sprocket is way off. One of those 3 windows should be about 11 o'clock. I can post some very helpful info from atlanticz's tech tips when I'm back home later today. Sitting in a waiting room right now, sorry.

Poor Gas Mileage - '77 280Z
When I put the potinometer on the coolant sensor wire and got it adjusted and running really good my MPG went up. Maybe the ECUs drifting out of spec over the years make them less efficient?

Spark Plug Wires
I'll second that. NGKs are about the best you can get for the price. Can't remember the set p/n offhand, google it. NGK plugs too, the cheaper ones. Copper I believe?

Project Crush
He's getting the P90 head off the turbo motor and putting it on top of the F54 with flat tops he already has, I believe. Should be about the same as a N42 head but with a drilled cam and the peanut shaped combustion chamber.

Project Crush
Is it a P90 or a P90A? The P90A will or should have hydraulic lifters which won't not need adjustment like all the other heads do.Be sure and get the turbos ECU, THEY'RE different. I can't remember which head you have now, MN47? The P90S have square exhaust ports. You're doing what I did, learning by disassmbly of junk yard motors. You will learn these motors whether you like it or not. It's great! Don't you live in an apartment? I do and had to build a 10x12 storage building.

Interior panel rivets
Are you removing the panels that often? My local Nissan dealership gets me packs of ten for a little more than a dollar each. I've got the p/n if you want it. Steve J found some on ebuy that work pretty good, they're a little tight fitting but they work and fifty cost what Nissan chargers for ten.

Triple Webers on 1977 280Z
Is there a vacuum hose hooked up to the distributor? I'd think the Webers need some attention, there's a lot to getting them run right. That's why I have a set in a box under my bed. Here's something I've read that was very informative in my opinion, http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/35221-tripple-weber-jet-sizes-and-adjustment/ post #4 is where the info starts

Interior panel rivets
The original rivets from Nissan are causing you to lose points at shows?

Oil pressure uneven
I agree with those sentiments completely. I get one running and see the potential then tear it apart and make it mine.

I need help with a Dime wagon
Have you called your local Nissan parts guy? Usually if Courtesy can get it my local guy can too. He'll say "there's some out there, might take a few days though". Those times it comes from Irving, TX. The next day stuff comes from Olive Branch, MS.

Thank you Blue, that's what I've done so far. Now I can quit.

Cam cleanliness
I've got my E88 apart now and cleaning, polishing everything. My cam lobes are nice and smooth just not shiny like I feel like it should be. Sorta dull grey, but smooth as butter. Should I polish them to a shinier finish? Does shiny mean worn? Thanks Cliff

'72 240Z Rebuild
I had a buddy that had lyme disease from a deer tick. Bad deal for sure. He works hard and thought the symptoms were from work. He got in bad shape and then finally went for help. I'm sore all the time too, makes me wonder sometimes. EDIT I assume it was Lymes, honestly don't know. It was a deer tick though, probably fell from a tree limb while he was mowing, according to the doctor.

'72 240Z Rebuild
That's what worries me. Snakes are scared too but I don't sneak up on them, I'm loud, so hopefully there won't be any surprises and we can live in peace. If it goes the other way, he'll be in pieces.

71 engine bay electrical ?
Running lights are the what I call parking lights, in between OFF and HEADLIGHTS on the right side stalk switch. Everything but the headlights come on. Are your side marker lights working? Here they are inside the switch on the right side stalk.
