  1. What's going on here? Limited access, had to sneak in for this post.
  2. Put on a 10 lb. flywheel for even quicker revving and fun driving. I kept the 2.4 block with the small rods, weighing the same, and 6,500 rpms is easy to get to quickly after I got my carbs straight.
  3. That's a head scratcher right there! Great idea too. I'm guessing a longer cable through the firewall to the valve?
  4. Those look completely different. Sorry I ask. 8^(
  5. Here's my green wire on the red 240 I had. It follows the freon hose from the compressor to inside the cabin I think, I sold that car. Might help?
  6. I've seen it both ways but would like to hear what the factory configuration is for a 1972 240. The inlet hose coming of the head to the heater valve goes through the bottom hole in the firewall? The outlet comes out the top hole on the firewall? That's what I've been able to find so far. Also I think it'll work either way but if someone could be so kind as to confirm this I would appreciate it. Thanks! Cliff RED=inlet BLUE=outlet
  7. I haven't been keeping up with this project and am curious as to which injectors you are using? Looks good and apparently runs good too.
  8. Who in the hell would risk losing everything to make "moonshine" when I can go two miles to the liquor store and buy Patron?
  9. That's what terrifies me, most vets go into law enforcement.
  10. "I hate f--cking electronics" I hate electronics too. Never tried to f♡ck them though, my girlfriends have!
  11. Reverse image search through google. Put your cursor in the image, hold down "S" key and right click.
  12. You can pull the inlet of the pump and stick it in a gas can to see if it pulls fuel. You could have a crudded up gas tank?
  13. The first 240 I bought I was hypnotized by the 240 itch and paid too much for it. Lucky I kept it long enough to get my money back but that's my lesson learned, don't jump on one too quick there's plenty to be had for a good price. Use searchtempest.com I think it is, for all of craigslist listings.
  14. $4,000, yeah but they want $14,000. That's a big difference.
  15. Passenger's side of the hatch is a lot tighter than the driver's side too. Looks like a damaged car to me but if your son likes it oh well.
  16. I'd take a GTR if someone feels the need to be philanthropic.
  17. It is a fine looking steering wheel. Congratulations!
  18. I've never seen a gauge on the sending unit, maybe the interior one flaked out? What happened with e-bay, didn't reach the reserve? Couldn't find anything from e-bay but did see these. Father son project, divorce, helping her sale the car... http://hotclassiccarsdeals.com/datsun/206005-datsun-nissan-280-280z-z-car-1978-barn-find-easy-restoration.html http://topclassiccarsforsale.com/datsun/299879-datsun-nissan-280-280z-z-car-1978-barn-find-easy-restoration.html
  19. I lost all my gauges when my alternator started "back charging" on my 1972. That caused the fuse to blow as soon as I turned on the key so check for a blown fuse too but it sounds like the alternator needs replacing to me. Seems like the internal regulator had gone bad on the alternator I had. You could stop by an auto parts store and have them test it, quick and easy.
  20. It looks to me like it may be a flood/water damaged car, all the interior's rusted bits and pieces. The lines all look straight on the pictures you've posted but it's had a color change and newish interior carpet and seats. We have a few members from everywhere you might get to look it over, wherever it's located or take it to an Import shop that is familiar with the older Zs and have them look it over. In my quick view I'd say $3,000, around or about. Good luck whatever you do.

Yes! That Lardassian is some kind of ET. Maybe Extra Trunk?
  22. I leave my shoulder belt hooked to the lap belt and hang it from that plastic tensioner like you do.
  23. It's an awesome sight to go out in the mornings and see a whole hotel parking lot filled with Zs. I'll never forget my first morning in Memphis. Guys and gals sipping coffee (Kahlua mixed) and polishing their cars, so quite and peaceful. It was nice.
  24. Are y'all using radiator shrouds? I ask because I went for a quick drive between storms and left it running, popped the hood. I have a full plastic shroud off a 280 and it blows air between the thermostat housing and the distributor across the header runners, pushing the heat back and away. I can only imagine how it flows when I'm driving but they do have a nice opening in the front. That's how mine seems to stay cooler? Just an idea I thought I could mention but I honestly don't know if it's a hard restart or a running problem you guys are having. Best of luck anyway.
