  1. If the starter or solenoid gets hot you may have a bad ground connection. Shine up the contact surface on the cable and the block. Might help.
  2. Here's one that looks more like the 2023 Z. I really like these and have had good luck with Toyotas. Jeff you are my hero, well you and Guy...many more too.
  3. Dog's in good health just older and tired BUT the ride to the other side of my small town in the Z was so neat and funny. He sits so low in the seat all that people see is his head which is 2 eyeballs a nose and ears. He has huge ears and they were flying around like a hairless duck. 😄 It was great. I did loose a front centercap though. Crossed a few train tracks at a good rate of speed so no big deal. Can hardly wait to get him out more now the sun has set away from here. What a miserable summer we all had.
  4. You could clamp off the return line coming out the bottom of the FPR to raise fuel pressure. That's how I found out mine was lean and then added the potentiometer to add fuel through the coolant sensor.
  5. Gave the Beefeaters the day off and eased out one of my crown jewels. Cranked up and ran good but all that sitting ruined another break cylinder. My dog has a doctor's appointment Thursday morning and he likes riding in this rather than my truck so I half assed cleaned it up for him.
  6. The heat shield needs some trimming too, on mine anyway. Post #21
  7. I had to trim some aluminum off the bell housing that my msa 6 to 1 header was barely rubbing on the 280 5 speed transmission. Did not on the 240 with another 5 speed just like it.
  8. I hope you won't have to add a resonator like I did. Luckily it's not too expensive if you get one in their stock. I think mine is 18" and they charged like $50 maybe? The resonator was $20 i remember that. Odd that my 2.4 did not have any odd noises, drones. They both sound great and are quite if you step lightly.
  9. Have you tried flipping that Z shaped pipe at the rear? My outlet right before the muffler is all the way up. Your's looks lower. Good luck, you'll get it I'm positive.

A working horn isn't going to stop the yelling. Not for me anyway.
  11. MSA has one similar if not exact but fiberglass. '70 thru '73. I would bet it's the shorter radiator. I put a 280 radiator in my '72 with a full shroud off a junkyard ZX. Works great too. I have always wanted the scarce as hen's teeth 240 belly pan. One day I'll find one for a reasonable price. https://www.thezstore.com/product/5386/radiator-shroud-70-73-240z
  12. Whoa, whoa, whoa... naked hostility? That's my first tattoo.
  13. Here's a good one that I used. It's older PDF so you'll have to download it. It's clean I promise. 😇 repairing-240z-combination-kamikazeracing-org.pdf
  14. Do you have the newer version from '75 and '76? Could be worth a try.
  15. Drove that little baby...2 hours, 3 gallons and no sense. Ran great after I got out of the driveway. Brakes were stuck. 63 degrees this morning. Things are looking up! (or down I guess, temp wise) I needed that drive too. It's been a miserable summer for me but a "change is gonna come".
  16. I was at the bar getting a refill at the Flora-Bama during "Writer's Weekend" one winter back in the 90s when this guy with wrist sweatbands stood beside me and put all of us at the back bar's drinks on his tab. Now I doubt he actually paid but it was pretty neat.
  17. You could also drive a flat screwdriver in there and gently turn it out.
  18. They're in Branson! 😄
  19. From what I remember about ZX turbos it was all or none. I think I'd like the stroker motor best. 🙊
  20. Your local upholstery shop would have it then there's always Amazon.com https://www.amazon.com/plastic-edge-trim/s?k=plastic+edge+trim
  21. My Fram G-3 is full coming straight out of the tank, your's should have a lot more fuel in my opinion. You can put a hose on the top side of the metal fuel filter under the hood close to passenger's side of the radiator support. Put the loose end in a gas can but secure it down. The high pressure will push it out of the jug. Unplug the small wire on the starter's solenoid and turn the key to ON. The pump should run without the car engine running. Let it fill up the jug or until the rear G-3 is full and all the air is pushed through the lines. It circulates from the tank to the fuel rail then the excess is sent back to the tank via the return line from the fuel pressure regulator to the tank. I can't tell looking at the picture if the G-3 is horizontal from the inlet to outlet but I would want some gravity help keep it full constantly. In other words the outflow to the pump should be on the bottom. https://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/fuel/g3filter/index.htm
  22. Here's a page I've bookmarked as I have the same issue. Sounds easy I'm just hesitant to take a 51 year old door card off. https://www.google.com/search?q=72+240z+door+handle+classiczcars.com&client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&sca_esv=560395082&bih=449&biw=320&hl=en&ei=I5PqZOK8D6SfptQP38OIkAY&oq=72+240z+door+handle+classiczcars.com&gs_lp=EhNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwIiQ3MiAyNDB6IGRvb3IgaGFuZGxlIGNsYXNzaWN6Y2Fycy5jb20yBRAAGKIEMgUQABiiBDIFEAAYogQyBRAAGKIEMgUQABiiBEjwogNQzClYxo4DcBR4AJABAZgB9gGgAbE2qgEGMC40NC4xuAEDyAEA-AEBwgIFECEYqwLiAwQYASBBiAYB&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp More reading... https://www.google.com/search?q=72+240+door+handle+classiczcars.com&client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&sca_esv=560395082&bih=449&biw=320&hl=en&ei=oZTqZO2tDuamptQPnpO6kAU&oq=72+240+door+handle+classiczcars.com&gs_lp=EhNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwIiM3MiAyNDAgZG9vciBoYW5kbGUgY2xhc3NpY3pjYXJzLmNvbTIFEAAYogRIqtECUPMpWJ-9AnAHeACQAQCYAZYCoAHWJKoBBjAuMzEuMrgBA8gBAPgBAcICCBAAGKIEGLADwgILEAAYiQUYogQYsAPCAgUQIRirAsICBBAhGAriAwQYASBBiAYBkAYF&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp#sbfbu=1&pi=72 240 door handle classiczcars.com
