  1. I've had crud inside my fuel tank that would let them run intermittently like that, it's a real pisser. Put a clear filter coming out of the tank and see what you have. Good write up here, http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/fuel/g3filter/index.htm
  2. Here's a nice chart on the different cams. Looks like the "M" has the lowest duration. Thanks @240260280 http://www.240260280.com/legacy/techtips/cam/index.htm
  3. Here's some info on bigger throttle bodies. I've always read about 240sx TBs on 280s. https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&ei=LRPkXtafM6LhxgGAlZvwDw&q=240sx+throttle+body+classiczcars.com+&oq=240sx+throttle+body+classiczcars.com+&gs_lcp=ChNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwEAwyBQghEKABMgUIIRCgATIFCCEQoAEyBQghEKsCMgUIIRCrAjoECAAQRzoCCAA6BggAEBYQHjoICAAQFhAKEB46BQgAEM0CUKcXWNY1YMdAaABwAXgAgAHIAYgBqAaSAQUwLjQuMZgBAKABAQ&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp
  4. My Dad had a hard time with my 280 when I was younger. The firing order was different from what he was used to. Maybe your guy has it off too.
  5. I had a hard to figure out problem with a '77 I'd bought. After a month or so I read about a recall on those with egr. My egr tube had come loose under the intake manifold where it connects to the egr tunnel. No telling how long it had been like that but it had rotted out a hole as big as a golf ball under there. Take a handheld mirror and look under the manifold close to the windshield end. Happen to me so it's a possibility. Good luck.
  6. Won't the overfill come out through the vent anyhow? He'll know it's full when there's a puddle.
  7. Dr Dave did you use a bench mount buffer with the paste? Thank you.
  8. Mine is twisted all the way counter clockwise, I think like you're saying with the tighten down bolt on the right. That's full advance to me. They run good at full advance IMHO. Check the plugs after driving it for awhile. Good luck!
  9. When my clutches drop like that it's usually the slave cylinder. Nissan pickups, BMW 325 and an old ZX are my only experiences. No warning either, just dead pedal. Crank them over in gear to get off the roadway
  10. Sale 1 Pontiac for $400 then buy twenty $20 car covers.
  11. This is one of my favorites. http://jdmchicago.com/wp/2012/10/christine-siepkas-1978-datsun-280z/
  12. looked a little more and found this. Says it is the "rocket bunny" https://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?p=5884058

  14. More Seinfeld, less current events. Thanks CO.
  15. It's adjusted to that poster! Guy knows what he wants to see. I think one for your office is next? It looks fantastic!
  16. I apologize. I meant read empty sooner. I've had a mind melt down over the past few days.
  17. Simple choice for normal people. Not too clear for sadistic minds.
  18. R=reverse. D=forward.
  19. I had a kitty once that loved to pull at the threads on my car cover. She was good at keeping the varmits out of my engine bay though. Now I have a black snake. Maybe he ate the kitty? Circle of life.
  20. I'm learning more about my buddy Zed Head! Farm animals.
  21. I agree with Steve. If you bend it down, more toward the bottom of the tank you'll get an empty reading much sooner. This is not a Z tank but for you to get an understanding of what I'm saying.
  22. Mine are connected via hoses to the air filter housing. I wouldn't leave them open if it were mine. Fuel could overflow or spill out with aggressive driving. But they can not vent if capped off. What type air cleaner are you using? Best image I could find with my phone.
  23. Those nuts with lock washers??? Waste of money. Conical, one use nut in my opinion, is the only way.
  24. I agree! Drs want to use blood thinners. We don't need no stinking blood thinners!
