  1. Here are some shots without carpet or seats, and the belt mechanisms separate. (from my parts car). The pics are of the drivers side. The pics of the receiving end are well represented in MikeW's post. The only thing I had that I don't see is the nylon strap that goes under the center console, and holds the two center receivers. I hope this helps you out. Dave
  2. Nice job S30driver, You did fine job cleaning up that bumper and fitting it to your 280. I applaud your efforts. That looks so much better than the stock bumpers. IMHO
  3. If you know a good body man I have a donor car with decent quarters. The center of the roof is a bit wavy. I's make you a heck of deal on the parts, getting them to you is another story though. But I thought I'd offer. http://www.datsunclassifieds.com/showcat.php/cat/500/ppuser/19508
  4. Sounds like you have a handle on it. I'm sure you can get it as good as having that kit in the first place:nervous: I'll get an exact weight on it and let you know tomorrow.
  5. I think it pretty cool myself. First time I've seen it.
  6. Curtis240Z is correct in the fact that there are spot welded on washers on the inside of the cross brace. I also agree that you should replace the whole thing. JMHO. I'll sell you the one I have, with the bolts and nuts if you want it. It just has the ding by the rack mount. PM if interested Dave
  7. What you have in you car is a camber adjustment kit from Specialty Products http://www.spcalignment.com/PROD_DIR/SPC_PROD_SEARCH_DYN.cfm?cmd=Cam&cmd2=83115&cmd3= When I took my car in to get it aligned at Les Schwab. the guy pulled that exact kit out saying it was the oldest parts he had and was shocked that he had it at all in the first place. Check out the installation instructions, what they do with that is cut a larger hole in your front cross brace 54401-E4100. install the eccentric and adjust your camber. You can never go back, once the hole is cut the stock bolt will no longer fit. To be stock again you would need to get a new cross brace.

  9. I have never do the job myself, but looking at my spare dash it looks like a 90 deg. screwdriver or a vert short stubby might work. with some patients Sounds like you have the correct part, my dash if from a mid 72 car. Here are some pics of it from the top side. I hope these help, good luck!
  10. That is a great price for that car Dave, I looked at a number of cars in the price range that were a whole lot worse than yours. I don't think you'll have any trouble selling it. I missed seeing it at Canby as we had to leave before you got there. Dave
  11. I am parting a 2/72 that was an auto. I got it with no motor or trans, but it does have the pedal box and the clutch master block off plate too. there might be some other pieces you need as well. let me know if you are interested. I'm selling everything cheap. Dave
  12. Awesome day. 120 miles down on my favorite backroad to Portland from Oly. paralleling I5. I was parked in overflow as Bruce said and was glad about it as I was in the shade all day. Those roadsters were roasting in the sun. I picked up a DVD and some gaskets from Bruce (Ztheropy) I need to clean my carbs, the PO let it sit for too long. Left about 4:00 and headed through the backroads on the east side of Mt St Helens. it turned into a 250 mile loop as the sign near the mountain said "road closed due to snow" and we had to reroute back to 5 and went back up the way we came down. Very fun loop though, all twistys just made for a long drive home. Thanks DatsunsNW for putting that show on, It is great to talk to anyone there and know they all have an interest in common, The Datsun! (nissan)
  13. Only period correct for my ZLOL
  14. I have one as well if you need one still (from a 2/72)
  15. Thanks for the clarification on the rest stop meet Arne, reading the posts it looked like there would be a meet up on both days. Thats fine I originally wanted to come in on the backroads as well. Dave, meeting Bruce from ZT was on my list of things to do there, I am going to miss your install if happens on Sun though, I have other commitments that day.
  16. I would dave, but you see I am starting at exit 88 and don't want to backtrack. We plan on going earlier too so I will see you down there.
  17. I plan on coming down for Sat. from the Oly area, I will check out the rest stop, and see if you all are there, and drive in with you. This is my first time going so new territory for me. Looking forward to it. Dave
  18. I saw this 2/72 in a front yard in Napavine WA on the backroads heading home from a drive to OR. No motor, no trans., no title and picked it up for $60. Some decent parts here for me and I'll part the rest out cheap to help out fellow members in need. Forward payments and the like. I5 auto wreckers in Chehalis had a 72 that had some really nice pieces on it a while back. I picked it over pretty well as did some others. I was there recently picking up some Kia Sportage seals and saw a 280zx turbo they had just gotten in. I did not have my camera with me then (2 weeks), but it was in pretty good shape very complete. The folks there are a bit gruff and overpriced on some things, and then really low on others. You just never know. Always on the look out.......... Dave
  19. I'd make this one as well if I didn't have to work Monday.
  20. No problem Dave, I can hold them for you as long as you like. I am dismantling the rest of the car as well, so if you need anything else let me know. It had no motor or trans but there are still some useable items there.
  21. Are these the ones you need Dave?
  22. Dave, I will be picking up a 72 rolling chassis for parts this weekend, not sure of the build date as yet. If you still need some parts, and if they will work for you. I'd be glad to help you out. I will know more on Sat afternoon. Dave
  23. What a fun day, great weather and a fun drive through scenic countryside. Stopped at LL Stub Stewart State park for a look and a break at the day use area. Went on and stopped to view the Elk Reserve for a bit. Nice heard there. Went on to Astoria's Rogue Pub, with a full-on chili cook off going on. and had a nice lunch. I decided to break off and head back North for home and decided to take additional back-roads the rest of the 80 miles home. I hit the 55555 mile threshold 5 miles north of Longview, I thought about it after I was home and looked at the picture and said to my wife "I should have been going 55 MPH when I took this." It only happens once and you can't go back and do it again. Se la vie :classic: Then about 3 miles from home we make the turn and there is this eagle in the road and he flies into the trees. I had to flag two cars around me to get the shots. A great ending to a killer day. The car ran quite well and handled great even on the Pot hole international raceway we encountered on the way. I think I swallowed a filling on that one. Nice to meet some fellow Z ers, A fine day for sure. David
  24. The wife and I are going to tag along on this ride as well. I test drove the Z to work for the last two days and all seems to be fine in the run-ability dept., so time for a higher milage test drive. What better chance to meet a few fellow Z lovers and enjoy a beautiful day. See you in North Plains. David
  25. Check the carb balance too, one could be rich and the other lean, giving you the A/F reading, but not not being correct.
