  1. just to let the forum members know I have a 260z with the 2 lift struts for the hatch. today I did install the Stabilus brand strut part # is 3b250273 and the hatch opens up 95% on its own. after I push the button to open the hatch, I raised it maybe 3-4" and it goes all the way to the top. what a difference. I believe the force is 44lbs for each strut and it does close really easy. just an update for the forum.
  2. You can buy gasket paper at chain stores but a good idea I learned from here, cut one out of a cereal box.
  3. Try blowing the line out from the front with compressed air. Have someone take off the gas cap and listen for the air coming out. You could have stirred up junk in the tank and clogged the line.
  4. Actually, I think that's the AAR port so even drier...
  5. It's just an air/crankcase gas fitting. It's not in the liquid fuel system so can't clog the injectors. A thin piece of cardboard would work just fine. No reason for it to disintegrate. Your old yellow one is more likely to fall apart. The pieces will get just get sucked in to a cylinder and blown out the exhaust pipe. There's always silicone sealant. Probably the only reason that there is a gasket there is to keep PCV gas liquids from seeping out and making a mess.
  6. I'd make one and use a paper punch for the bolt holes.
  7. Figured it was not bad. Blasted and painted again. Looks new now. Thanks all.
  8. IIRC there are two pieces of metal that spin closely to each other. If the gap between them isn't clean or has corrosion then it will read high across the range
  9. I'm old but that doesn't mean I'm ready for the recycle bin...yet 😝
