  1. Hi , I can’t stop doing this, a guitar with a Z. I finally met my dream guitar, it has a stamped JUN 1969 (my birthday is 18th June 1969) on the neck and it is a Lake Placid Blue ! The Internal electrical parts are mixed with a few 1966 and mostly 1969 which are looked to be original. The amplifier is 1968 made which is the best combination for the guitar. Made in USA guitar and amp spent 53 years in the USA. Other one is made in Japan 1970 240Z spent 51 years in the USA . Now they met each other in Japan and started to belong to a 53 year old Japanese owner. Thanks to the large luggage room, I guess designers and engineers might expect for younger generations to have full load of musical instruments on the deck . My guitar and amp fitted just like bespoke. Kats
  2. I have these front sidemarker upgrade connectors installed on my car and they work great - a super safety upgrade. Note they are only for the 240Z. https://www.thezstore.com/product/6055/side-marker-conversion-plugs-70-73-240z They work best if the OE thermal flasher cans for both the turn signal and hazards have been replaced with an eletro-mechanical flasher such as this: https://www.autozone.com/electrical-and-lighting/turn-signal-hazard-warning-flasher/p/novita-turn-signal-hazard-warning-flasher-lf12/849392_0_0 Be sure to get a module that handles enough bulbs. 3. A few weeks ago I traded in my 2015 Pathfinder for a Frontier Pro-4X Crew Cab. There was a poster on the wall and I said "doesn't that go with my new truck?". They took down the poster and gave it to me.
  4. I feel it too. Wish I had been there.
  5. Thanks for reminding it, I looked at the tickets today . Kats
  6. I joined the "club Frontier" forum and for my intro I said "here's my oldest and newest Nissans" with this picture. The Z got almost all the attention.
  7. I would like to share these pictures, sorry if I did it before in another thread. From Nissan Graph Dec 1969. I can feel the atmosphere, huge excitement all over the place especially around these new car , Fairlady Z series . I think the car which was covered by clouded people was a yellow, displayed at a ‘Owner’s Hall’ which was a bit far from Main stand of Nissan . I circled blue is a main stand of Nissan which is at Hall 2 , red is an Owner’s Hall which is at Hall 6. It is fun to imagine that every evening when the show closed , the car was taken care of wiping thousands of finger prints even got some dents and scratches ! Kats
  8. What with the show lasting for two weeks, Nissan certainly switched cars around on the displays to keep things fresh. Here are the different cars that I see across various photos, as more and more come to light: *918 Orange 432 on the rotating display (headlamp covers, lettered tyres etc). *919 Yellow 432 on the main floor and then moved onto the rotating display (no headlamp covers, non-lettered tyres). *Blue 'Fairlady Z Export Model' LHD on the angled 'speed wall' display. *918 Orange 432-R on the main floor and then moved onto the 'speed wall' display (black hood, rear spoiler, plain steel wheels). *920 Gold Fairlady Z-L on the main floor ('deluxe' bumpers). *B/W photo Fairlady Z-S on the main floor and then moved onto the rotating display ('standard' non-trim bumpers, but with optional hubcaps). Any advance on six?
  9. The sidemarker works in a normal fashion when the turn signal is NOT engaged and flashes on/off when the turnsignal is in use. I also have Dave Irwin's headlight relay kit and turnsignal relay kit installed. The above upgrade adds only one filament to the fuse load for either the left or right turn signal operation.
  10. Do you have some free play at the top of the clutch pedal?
  11. got the new starter in, warm engine, #6 was 165 psi, all the rest were about the same but now #4 is 125 argh!!! did a wet test, no change, getting late, will do another leak down on #4 pretty sure its not the bottom end since there was no change with oil added to cylinder. I did a quick valve lash check on #4 all good there, even made some minor tweeks (engine was not hot or cold but warm so I aimed for the inbetween setting of .009 in and .011 out). Still no change. leak down should id the offending valve. Guess another I Italian tune up is coming.
  12. If a Stratocaster could ask for anything for Christmas, it would be a David Gilmour.
  13. Just for kicks, I made an effort to count. Assuming all the pictures shown on this page are from the same year, I counted four - A Fairlady Z (B&W photo), a blue LHD Z, and two orangish Z432-badged cars, both of which may be the same color, but definitely have different tires, and one has a headlight cover installed. (is the one on the turntable an "R"?) Of course, I wouldn't assume that folks in the marketing department were opposed the age-old trick of swapping tires, or adding badges and accessories after hours, all to help sell the illusion that there was more than a handful of cars built. So perhaps that was part of the drill as well.
  14. I have ripped most of my CDs, and digitized several of my vinyl albums (I have a couple hundred), and keep a couple of backups. About 7,500 songs so far. I then put everything in iTunes on one of my laptops, then mirrored on (first, many years ago) an iPod 80 gig classic. Later I picked up an iPod 6, and copied everything to it. When I finally broke down and gave up my flip phone, it was an iPhone 6 (a little over two years ago, the last iPhone to have an earphone jack). Again, another copy of my iTunes library. I got an iPad last August for my birthday, so yet another duplicate of my music. The 80 gig iPod classic is docked in a 24 bit converter that is connected to my stereo system. The iPod 6 is currently in Eddie, connected via USB to the Alpine stereo. I sometimes take it out to the shop and connect it via USB to the Harman Kardon stereo I have out there. The iPhone 6 gets connected via USB to the stereo in Mrs. Racer’s Toyota Corolla, and the Alpine (also USB) in my Subaru Legacy goon. If I want to use it in the Ram I need to use the headphone jack and use a cassette adapter (poor option). The Ram stereo is an odd size, with few options for aftermarket upgrades, and in 2001 when it was new OEM stereo didn’t support addons. I also have an XM radio, with a lifetime subscription. I have a cradle in the Ram, the Legacy, Eddie, in the house on my stereo system, and in the shop connected to the Harman Kardon. So, when I’m not tuned in to racing (four TVs in the house, two in the shop), that os what I have going.
  15. 24th October 2022. Happy World Debut 53rd Anniversary to the S30-series Z family!
  16. Now let’s find out what it is, an inlet opening for the blower motor. I feel something uneasy, but I can’t tell where it comes from. I took this picture yesterday, from an unique car. Kats
