  1. I run OEM studs . I’ve used the SS stud kit from ZCD - I believe - also . I have also used there copper flanged nuts - and they do stay tight . Tight enough to bring the stud out sometimes . But no washers to fiddle with .
  2. I couldn’t find this via a search so I thought I would share my findings the thread size for the fitting that leaves the turbo oil t-block (originally hardline to the turbo) is: m12x1.0 I used a m12x1.0 to -4an adapter and works perfect for my turbo oil feed line. cheers!
  3. I use these two: Ford Dark Shadow Gray and then spray over that with matte clear. This is what Les at Classic Datsun Motorsports recommended.
  4. There's no 'maybe' necessary here. They did. Notwithstanding all the "Made For The USA" propaganda, evidence is all over these cars that they were conceived, designed and engineered as a series of models, accommodating several different markets and both LHD and RHD configurations. And a very good job they made of it too...
  5. I bought two "J" hoses from my local Nissan dealership a couple of years ago. They weren't much money but I don't remember the amount. Call your local place and tell the parts person to punch in these numbers, 16356-25610. They should be able to get them overnight, no shipping charges for you to pay either. Maybe they can still get them? I like these better than ztherapy's, Nissan's are pre-formed and will never kink. Good luck.
  6. I’m going to guess, “z car depot”?
  7. Interestingly, the story I heard was that the Franklin Mint Z was offered to a collector I know for $65K some time before it was put on BAT. He passed, and it was bought at that time by another collector (Larry Steppe -Lsteppe on BAT). That collector has some sort of collaboration with the indicted felon who is The 240Z Guild on BAT, which may have started when Lsteppe bought an auctioned car from The 240Z Guild (before he called himself that) on BAT. Now, back to the Franklin Mint Car, as mentioned Larry bought the car when it was offered for sale privately, and then appears to have had The 240Z Guild put it on BAT, where he bought it from himself for “the highest price paid for a 240Z” at the time. If you read the comments on pretty much any 240Z auction, you’ll see Larry and The 240Z Guild trying to influence prices all the time. I’m guessing if the Franklin Mint car is still at The 240Z Guild in OK, it’s just because Larry hasn’t moved it back to Atlanta. The 240Z Guild has several of Larry’s cars on display in their “showroom” (which is the above pic). Maybe Larry sold it to someone else, using his purchase from himself price to make a large profit on the car.
  8. Sorry... One more thing while I'm in here. The rubber fuel line in this pic doesn't look right to me. Looks kinked. Is that just a trick of the camera angle?
  9. That could leave a mark!
  10. I got 20” from center. The 240 has a muffler hanger bracket directly above the outlet pipe of the muffler. I offset forward in the car to tighten up the exhaust pipes he makes. are putting on a resonator it made mine a little more pleasant. But still nasty on WOT between 4K and 7k.
  11. Well the buyer can back out but he will loose his privilege of bidding on BaT for future auctions and will probably still be charged the 5% commission he owes BaT. After that deal is dead BaT will reach out to the second bidder to see if he is still interested.
  12. I'm sure the Round-Up was on the same shelf, Zantac and baby powder too. I was working in a paint store back in the 90's when the EPA cops came in and took all of our wood preservative Creosote off the shelf, put them in their car and drove away. The owner came in later that day and was pissed to put it mildly. Told me they weren't EPA, they were thieves in broad daylight and did I actually read their badge. He was mad at me! Our refrigeration guy claims he has a drop in for the older walk-ins with R-12. It's in a pink bottle, 401 something I think he said. I'm going to try it someday in my 280 with factory a/c. We have about 212 percent humidity today and that drains my old arse out faster than a hangover.

Yep. My 200 hp engine will happily humm along for a full endurance race. I pulled my current motor apart after 20 race hours due to a harmonic damper issue and everything looked like new inside. I replaced the parts that the failed damper took out and put it back together. ?

I have an n42 block and n42 cylinder head I beat the hell out of occasionally. The harder I run the cooler it seems to run. I do have a newer 3 row radiator, full shroud off a ZX and a belly pan so all the air pulls through the front opening. If I shut it down immediately it will get pretty hot but I always let it idle for a minute or 2.

Everything properly maintained, the Z engines don’t run too hot. This doesn’t include racing. 1/2 an hour of WOT will cook anything that isn’t properly modified and maintained. I think the F54 was designed for the turbo but used for everything. That’s just smart. Turbo engines just run hotter. Having owned Z cars most of my life, they are plenty entertaining without monstrous power. Jeff has 200hp and I’m sure he falls asleep with a smile after race weekends. I’m using a Rebello built 3.0 which I dynoed at 276 at the wheels. My kid who drives a 944 Turbo is afraid to drive it...
  17. @w3wilkes @madkawThanks for your feedback. It is just from wich perspective you look at it. We restore several 1969 production US cars and European cars, These cars come with tanks that have the connections like the tanks we produce. Also the cars produced for the Japanese market (including the Z432), the UK , Australia and the rest of the world came in this configuraton (without the vapor connections) A lot of people I know in the US said that this configuration would fit them also, because they delete the vapor system. For the US market cars we restore to a "as it left the factory"level, after the tanks are produced, we simply ad the connections and we have the tank the car came with when new. Till now most orders came from the US, but also Japan (for a Z432) and the rest of the world. I have a 1970 919 color 240Z I use as a daly driver, and this car I run with triple Mikuni's so I don't need the emission and vapor stuff at all on this car.
  18. This are exact pictures of the tank+
