  1. cleaned up the Garage and did washed the brothers Datsun on Fathers day. Had the whole family helping!
  2. We went to a car show last Saturday, and were awarded a Second in the Stock classification. This makes 5 trophies RedBird has won in 5 shows, I'm very happy we are doing so well. My Service Dog Lissa was with me, and RedBird was so shiney that she reflected the trophy and Lissa too. It was a great time again, altho awfully hot. We were indoors at least, and brought a fan which helped. We are regestered with ZCON, and Best Western for Oct. 19 & 20th. Hope to see many of you there. It will be so great to meet my online friends in person.?
  3. Happy Fathers Day guys!! Enjoy your kiddos!!
  4. ...Who came back with some unfortunate tattoo's...... Still an old friend though. I've alway's loved those stripes on that blue. I even seriously considered it when I was choosing paint for mine. I'm happy to know that this car still exists. A legend in my mind at least...
  5. I wish all you lucky rascals a great day! My dog is laying beside me I bed and that makes me happy. I can't imagine something that could tell me happy fathers day. Enjoy the day Dads!
  6. I put together a little group caravan to cars and coffee this morning. Then our friend with the LFA joined us. My dad drove his green Z, I drove his safari gold, Eiji brought his G nose, my friend Michael brought the Hakosuka and then our other friend has the LFA. I will post my photos first. Then my friend Mike Lee's which make mine look like cell phone shots.
  7. I just wish you could trust the add copy. Most likely the person writing is is not that familiar with the car.
  8. I was (half) joking about it coming back again in the future. It's an old engineering adage taught to me by one of my mentors that if you have not positively confirmed the root cause of the failure, then it's likely to come back again. Here's to hoping that's not the case here!
  9. More sanding....this is the boring part of the project. It was windy out today so had to use custom hood and hatch props.
  10. Seriously? You read HERE that Nissan successfully combined metal with plastic? That would be quite a feat, don't you think? Do you not know the difference between plastic and metal? You must! You used a magnet and it stuck. What does that tell you? All emblems have mounting posts; both the metal ones and the plastic ones.

  12. Yes I am 6'-5" and unfortunately Cody will probably 6'-8" or taller... Happy Father's Day to you too Guy. Looks like you had a good day in the shop too.
  13. My oldest daughter spent most of the day with me trying to diagnose the boat and working on the Z. We got the headliner installed I had sound mat on the ceiling but it didn't seem to be holding. So we stripped it and went straight onto the Lizard skin A clothes pin helps a lot getting the material tucked in. I didn't work the adhesive all the way to the edge of the liner of the roof. That made it a little easier to tuck in We hung some doors on the chassis Lowered it down and hung 3 of the 4 struts on the car. Working towards getting it on the ground and ready for finished paint It was a good day in the shop even though we didn't make any progress on the boat...
  14. Well, they are aftermarket accessory items from almost 50 yrs ago and a heavy wear item, so yes they are pretty rare now. Used sets used to pop up on ebay pretty frequently until about 10 yrs ago, but not much anymore. I've only seen one set in the last few years and they were pretty well worn.
  15. That car got me through a lot of my problems for sure. I lucked up and bought the same car as Phillips when I got back into Datsun Zs. Can't leave Captain Obvious' s '77 out either. They both helped me a bunch. Oh yeah Fastwoman was a tremendous help too. ZedHead and everyone else on this forum. Thank you all!
  16. I was instantly a fan of anyone who could do those kind of repairs and mods while lying underneath a jacked-up car parked outdoors on on a crushed-rock driveway. None of that 3-bay-garage, epoxy-coated floor stuff for our Mr. Blue. Always made me wonder, though: Aren't there any mosquitoes or blackflies in Nova Scotia?
  17. Next year there will be another Safari Gold Car in the parade....maybe a growing annual event.

Here we go!!!!! Brandon’s coming over to help with the install. Everything is ready for out with the old....in with the new! 240mm two plus two clutch collar also.
  19. I got to drive it Friday night Site......quite the experience......rev limiter at 8000, and it comes up like lightning. We’ll get you a ride in Atlanta....looking forward to meeting the Alabama Jamma!
  20. This is like saying hello to an old friend that you've missed for a long time. I expected to see a photo showing your feet under the car up on wood blocks used for jackstands with a tub of grease in your hand. Beautifully brutal shots of Blue in the massive winter you have there, yet followed by the lush greens of a new season. Memory lane. Thank you Phillip and Blue!
