Did some serious bodywork today removing bad bodywork-lol. I got lucky that this guys fiberglass didn’t stick to anything much . I just tapped the marker area with a hammer and popped out the filler. It was a bad idea , badly executed, thank goodness ?
  4. Thanks again everyone, things are coming along nicely. Got a lot of the interior in as you can see in the pics. Most electrical is working except for blinkers so will have to troubleshoot that. My meter shows that I am not getting power to the turn signal lever. Kind of weird because all the running lights, headlights and dome light work. Will play around with that today. (Edit: that was a quick fix, one small bullet connector near the fuse panel...all better) Also will be detailing hubcaps, horns and stick shift knob. Found a nice pretty new starter from @Zup along with the correct battery cables. I am looking forward to those coming in. That should really set off and complete the engine bay.

The Lambo Arancio Borealis is an amazing color! It's very vivid but not crazy loud. The Lambo paints are extremely hard to touch up properly if the need arises (hopefully not) but the end result justifies the difficulty. I ended using Lamborghini Arancio Argos Pearl on my 280Z and I couldn't be happier with my choice even 2 yearts after the fact. Just happened to be that the base pigment for the Arancio Argos is almost excatly the same as the original 110 paint on my Z. Here's a pic or 2 of the color.

Those are nothing but a big razor blade spinning around!!! I bought a new dual speed Eastwood buffer 1800/3600 rpm. The low speed allows you to buff plastic lenses. It also allows you to buff stuff like this at a lower speed. I should have turned it down sooner. You do have to be careful! I read on another forum that a member let a piece of trim get away from him and it basically took his nose off! I tend to avoid the 510 forums. They tend to be really course! and sometimes stupid cheap! The realm isn't too bad but Ratsun seems to be more so. Anyway I stewed over this for a while and read a bunch of threads on other forums. One of the problems is that the trim is really thin! Unlike the trim on other classic cars which tends to have some thickness which makes repair easier. So at this point I have a 10 -15 degree bend in the trim about 6" from the end. It's bent in the flat direction not the easily corrected thin direction. So I figure it's trash any way so how can I mess it up??? So we broke out the MAP gas. I had already tried shrinking the bulging area to straighten the piece to no avail. So I clamped the short end in the vise and heated it cherry red and stretched it down to straighten it Took 4 or 5 tries and I ended up with this Now these pieces are stainless so they can be buffed out. The profile of the piece is sort of like a "J" with the hook of the J going in a groove in the weatherstrip. The leg of the J lays flat over the face of the rubber seal with a metal hem on the outside edge to finish it. It is easiest to slide it in and the corner pieces act like sockets to connect all the corners This is what the repaired piece looks like now. Serviceable but not pretty. Ok at 10 feet. I will keep my eyes open for some better trim. If I had the rights tools I probably could make it perfect. You just need a trim anvil, a lot of jewelers hammer and a lot of time Much happier now. Happy New Years!!!!

Oh, and Cody told me this is his new favorite mug @Zup @S30Driver
  8. I took her out for the inaugural drive round the cul-de-sac. Had to watch out for the snow and ice in the corner but....oh wait, I live in SoCal. It's 80 degrees and sunny. (Just had to throw that in for the East coasters). Anyway, car is running great and is very nice to drive. Now I just have to finish up a bunch of details and she is good to go. Boy, it drives nice! Love having the new shocks and bushings. It is very smooth. Looks like the short engine video is loading. Feel free to turn the sound up Engine Vid.mp4
  9. You gotta stir the pot, don't you?!
  10. Chris , pictures please ! I did not know the yellow car. The silver , maybe . Also I did not know the key chain Jerry ! Kats
  11. You're way over doing it! These cars are really light, especially compared to the cars you just listed. Look up the curb weights. You can put all the power you want in a Z but it becomes really difficult to get it to hook up. Also the chassis is not designed for that kind of power. It takes big money to make that power and it takes big money to upgrade everything else that it demands, chassis, brakes, tranny, rear end, half shafts, drive shafts, etc. If you have 30 or 40k burning a hole in your pocket then ok...
  12. Welcome to the transition nightmare!. You are right there in the zone between 2500-3000. For me it was during moderate acceleration in that zone. I could usually blast right thru that stumble during WOT throttle. I used to watch the AFR go up to 16+ and then the stumble. I played with my bleed pipes that were inside my emulsion tubes, but not sure of your set-up. I finally started filling the bleed pipe holes with solder with good results. I had tried everything else including float levels, pilot jets, pump jets and settings, main air jets, main jets without much luck. I would push the pilot jet as far as you --even running 12 afr at idle and see if that helps. You need to remember that you are dealing with many variables with triple sidedrafts-this isn't your quadrajet. These carbs weren't meant to be daily drivers as much as they were for racing. Todd at Wolfcreek could not offer much more help then getting the carbs tuned for racing. When I would describe my transition issue he would say you have them running pretty good if you ask me. When they run good though.... https://youtu.be/NGh6urUlzcQ
