  1. Last night we had our regular nwazcc meeting at Gusano's Pizza. Some of the S30's in attendance - one is a scarab. Greg (gwri8), standing beside Zup, is up here visiting family, & we invited him to attend our get together, a great guy & a fun night. Zup picked him up in his 240 and brought him to the meeting.
  2. My name is Cliff and I'm an Interstate user. I've hit rock bottom and am using bungee cords daily. I have the courage to change the things I can and with your wisdom I now know the difference.
  3. Bead blasted some small stuff, clear coat tomorrow.
  4. 1 point
Yeah, Photobucket SUCKS!! I reloaded the pics at the (current) end of the thread. Take a look at page 4. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/48621-steering-rack-disassembly-and-refurb/?page=4&tab=comments#comment-531913
  5. Gas tank is installed. Getting the hoses on and putting it in place without scratching it was difficult. I ended up laying on the ground and holding it in place. The large 5/8” hose was first. Which I used stainless welding rod to make the U. Then the end hose. Why does the tank need so many vents?:)
  6. Apologies for jumping in here so late in the game, but I thought that the OE fuel hoses running from the fuel rail to the float bowls (and from the fuel pump to/from the fuel rail) were not fabric covered. For the three Z's that I've had my hands on (one '70 and two '72's), these hoses were not fabric-covered. Of course, hose originality can be tough to nail down because they've so often been replaced during the earlier service life of the car. Maybe others can comment... Have a look at this photo of an unrestored Jan. 1971 car.
  7. @David F How about you start your own thread on the electrical problem you need help with? Then people can choose to help or ignore you without cluttering up the OPs thread.
  8. Man I would have thrown those in the junk pile and bought a better set but you did a great job of rescuing them. It's a pleasure to watch.
  9. You can't always use a magnet to positively identify stainless. There's plenty of stainless that IS magnetic. If it's steel and it's non-magnetic, then it's stainless. But if it's steel and it IS magnetic, you still can't rule out stainless. It might be a magnetic grade. I believe (from the fact that they are steel and haven't rusted) that the wiper arms ARE stainless.
  10. Mine are the wiper arms that came with the car (pretty certain they're the original '78 wiper arms) and they're definitely not SS. Thanks for the compliment on the car. It's always nice to be appreciated by the forum bros.
  11. I used a matte clear coat after removal of the black paint on mine It's important that the wipers don't reflect light onto your eyes. I don't have a closeup of the clear coated wipers but you can see the finish if you zoom in on the pic.
  12. Any idea why a stock 280z 1978 has a back fire problem blowing out blue smoke
  13. One trick you may use is to wire in a 12v light in place of the fuse that keeps blowing. If it lights brightly, you have a short. You can then move wires around and see if you can find the issue. Move the wires around that you suspect. Disconnect the battery anytime you are messing with the fuses or connecting the test light (I use insulated alligator clips). One slip while installing fuses or hooking clips up can result in a blown fuse.
  14. I know some company makes them then sends them to Embee Coatings in Santa Ana, CA for the ceramic coating. You might call Embee and see if they'll say? http://www.embeeperformance.com/
