  1. pickups fly out because the tape was removed. new post that will be something like "im not getting spark on some cylinders, why?"
  2. you could make them at home with a lathe. if you're anything like me it'll take about a week per nut. Or take them to a local machine shop and it'll take a couple of hours for a set!

thank you!! i am down to (not necessarily in this order) it has been a long almost 2 years bumpers front strut brace insurance (monday) tags (monday or tuesday) test drive (after tags) .
  4. Hi moelk, some one put a hand made trumpet on the emblem, and some one bought a later horn pad with a trumpet, then threw away an early horn pad without a trumpet. But, basically to most of the items , if your car is registered before the cut off date, the new rule is not applicable to your car. A Shaken tester sees the registered date if he has a question when checking the car. Having a trumpet is better than not-having, this way of thinking made some dealer salesman (or mechanic) suggest customer to replace an old beautiful horn pad with a later trumpet one. Kats
  5. I only have the 1/4 window and passenger window ones available. I'll have to check the others later on. Good chance Windscreen is not original and I don't have my late 71 240z handy to check what markings are on it. But will take note later when I'm back in Melbourne.
  6. To make these nuts wouldn't you just need access to a lathe and an example to copy from? (Asking as someone who has very limited experience with a lathe) but maybe modern CNC machining and 3D scanning could help reproduce these relatively easily?
  7. Very interesting, what a shame they never made them! It would have been good to get the LSD, rear disk brakes, along with the other unique parts you mentioned. I can't help but feel it's a shame Nissan didn't produce them. Especially the G-nose variants.
  8. Hi Gave, Today I looked at the parts catalog for 1974 model, dated December 1973. Usually 1974 model doesn't draw my interest , but this time I learned many things about stillborn "Fairlady 260Z / 260Z-L and 260Z -E ". First, not only 2/2 , also two seater had a G-nose . The cars which had a G-nose were equipped with a L26 associated with an electronic fuel injection system. The "L26-E " produces 170 ps ! Fairlady 260Z-E and 260Z-E 2/2 were the top model of the line up in 1974 (when this catalog was issued ) . 260Z-E and 260Z-E 2/2 had these, G-nose, power window, R-200 LSD with four pinion , rear disk brake, stiffer spring and rear stabilizer, And very similar air cleaner box as Z432, if my memory was correct, I would see the one on Yahoo Japan auction. I thought it was for Z432, but looking at closely some thing different, as it seem to be mirror image of Z432's air cleaner. I could not understand what it was, but now I guess it would be a rare part... Kats
  9. Well I would guess in todays litigious times, maybe he thinks he could be held liable for selling you something that drew more current than the original system was designed for. Especially if your lawyers came calling after your car burned to the ground. With you in it. And a nun. On a bridge that then subsequently collapsed and crushed an orphanage. Or maybe he just doesn't like guys named Granny?

  11. I had a few minutes this evening to do some cleaning and inspecting of the Z. I will try and post some photos Sunday. I removed the passenger seat and crawled up in the rear to work on getting the rear hatch open. Once I did that I clean out the rear and inspected that area. The passenger floor is in great condition from the inside. The rear deck is also in great condition, there are some rust issues in the bottom of the spare tire well two minor places from first look. The rear hatch rear deck has some rust developing on both sides but no rust through. I did remove the rear interior trim piece and the rear hatch interior cover. It is interesting that the interior trim dog legs have never had the plastic protective cover removed. I need to work on the rear brake drums and get the car rolling.

I was at @Careless's shop today giving him a hand with the windshield and vinyl trim, thought some of you guys might like to see the progress.
  13. I though you were posting a picture from my thread for a minute! and on ticket me yellow! Nice progress, and I'm inclined to like your choice in colors
  14. I used the same size spacers, folded cardboard pieces, on both sides and loosened the bolts at the hood hinges to get it straight. Don't loosen them too much though or you'll fight it all day. Learned that the hard way. Edited. Your's look like a fender alignment issue maybe?
  15. Lights hung around the outside of the booth. Six vertical lights around Patched the floor rust with a piece from one of Charlie's excellent floor boards there was a big crease through the drivers side wheel well. I couldn't remove it so I made some patches from a Tabco panel... this was June of 2013..
