  1. Your car has been suffering from neglect. Aside from the corrosion, it is also obvious that the SUs are missing the dipsticks. The good news is there are plenty of knowledgeable people living a couple of hours west of you. Atlanta has a really good early Z community. You'll need to get the gaskets for the carburetors. Those come in kits. You'll probably also need new hoses from the float bowls to the carburetors. You may also need new needles if someone messed with the carburetors and bent them. Get some straight 20W oil. You can probably find that at your local Ace Hardware in a 3in1 brand bottle. I have two or three of those in my garage. Hopefully you won't need floats. I can't remember if those were reproduced yet or not. Z Therapy doesn't list them in the product line. Get the SU video from Z Therapy (http://www.ztherapy.com). Download the factory service manual. See the link in my signature. Ask questions.
  2. Car looks fantastic Kats!
  3. Today I took my 240ZG for a couple of ours to enjoy windings near my house . At near the end of the driving , the shift lever did not want to engage , I found the clutch operating cylinder had a leak. I need to replace 11/16 adjustable cylinder. Kats
  4. Interesting Ideas. Will keep a list of your suggestions and hopefully to show up on my site someday soon. Keep them coming. Managed to get the seat brackets finished. However as of yet these have not been approved yet for fitment. Once approved they are ready for purchase (https://www.prospect-d.com/). Can also review the installation guide as well in the install guide section. Similar to the ones I made for my Z, already posted pictures. These appear to fit and made a lot better. Pictures:
  5. You're right. That oil filter needs new paint. Good luck!
  6. 1 point
My better half just showed me this, thought I'd share with our southern neighbours! http://videos2view.net/stronger-beer.htm
  7. Thanks, but when you have no social life there's nothing else to do but work on your projects Clean, rough, but clean. As soon as I get the body repairs done I have 3 cans of that green Eastwood internal frame sealer with the spray hose and I'm going to empty them into every sub frame and crevice I can find.
  8. cliff, I think he is asking what is the logic to sealing one side of the plate to the master cylinder and not sealing it to the booster? I don't have a theory...
  9. the little airtex just purrs away with no problem - between the light output of that pump and the diaphragm pressure regulator on the filter it's all good. i've been doin' nothing but putting in gas and driving day after day and it runs great. middle of the winter, 30 degrees (cold for us in seattle) and just pull the choke, she starts right up and off you go. middle of the summer, 90 degrees (hot for us in seattle) and never a hint of vapor lock or hot-start issues. this is of course with a header (runs cooler than the cast iron stock manifold) and the stock round-top heat shields in place.
  10. Do you have a steering wheel?
  11. I don't know if that modified look is what you should be going for... Crate that engine up, send it to me and I will send you a nice stock original 280 engine in mildly abused condition .... No charge!
