  1. Last Tuesday I took RedBird to Sam, who is installing her new air conditioner. Yay!!! I went by today and took a few photos of the progress to share with you. Boy the compressor sure is shiny. I'm so happy that this is finally happening. I'll keep Y'all posted on her progress. Jai
  2. LoJack is expensive so some people get a little creative. One clever workaround I heard about was to buy a cheap used iPhone - cracked screen would be a good choice and then put it on a an inexpensive wireless pay as you go plan. Hide it in the car, like by the taillights and hot wire it for continuous power. Then use the "find my phone" feature to track it if the car is stolen. Also, there are other commercial choices. 3. Kind of thought of it but not sure they would be interested in something like this. I've never sold anything to a business, though I guess I might could ask just to see what they say. I see, so a kit consisting of the front lower section of the quarter panel, the rear sections of the inner and outer rockers, the rear tie in plate sandwiched between the rear section of the rockers ( not sure what its called), and possibly the lower part of the door jam, also perhaps the lower front part of the wheel well. I'll have to think about that, it would indeed be a nice repair kit for the dogleg area.
  4. Hi all, I forgot to say that when Sam took off RB's radiator, it was loaded with sludge. I'm not surprised for a car that lived her previous 40 years in Arizona. So Sam took it to the radiator shop to be flushed. It is soaking for the weekend, and will finish the clean out on Monday, when Sam will get it back. I went to a local parts store right here in Eton where I live, to purchase 2 new hoses. The old ones were not bad, but not real good either. Sam likes to do everything possibly needed. No shortcuts for him. I volunteered to do this to save Sam the driving time since it is right at my backdoor. Have fun... Jai
  5. What is the point of this thread? What purpose does it serve to just post random photos of cars that you "hoovered" (mostly from prior threads on this site) with no context? For instance, you posted a single photo of the rear of my HLS30-00032 car sitting on a trailer the day it came back from being painted. I took that photo myself and posted it in a thread about my car on this site. Most of these photos are from threads to document the progress of work on cars, cars that were listed for sale, or to compare certain early parts. When you just repost a bunch of photos with no context what value is there in that? There is nothing unique about the back of my car shown in the photo you posted, and it doesn't look like that now so I'm not sure what the point is. Many of the photos you posted have parts that aren't original to the cars and aren't "correct" for their production date, so they may be misleading to someone trying to determine what is an original part on a low VIN car. If you are trying to document early parts unique to low VIN cars then do that, although you should do a search first and add to existing threads whenever possible rather than needlessly creating new ones. Many of us have spent a lot of time and effort to try to document parts differences, so why recreate the wheel, especially if you are going to post photos taken from other threads without linking to them or providing some context. It seems you have even lost track of the photos you posted to this thread as you posted photos of PS30-00013 twice (first in post #2 and then at the end of the thread)..
  6. that sure is bright.
  7. You want to check the fuse at the red box. If you don't take care of the problem, the fuse box cover could end up looking like the one in the second photo.
  8. Nissan would make splices in the harness for efficiency sake. Under the loom tape in the harness somewhere will be a small splice. They strip a little section off a wire and then strip the end of the other wire and attach them to each other with a small copper crimp. They can be hard to find. Sometime they corrode...another thing to check is take your meter and with a long lead or a long piece of wire tie the black meter probe to the negative battery post and post up your voltages again...
  9. Someone posted this on another site. Don't know how to embed. http://imgur.com/gallery/EBCe0dI
