I believe it wasn't just the 432's it was the Fairlady Zg's with the one above the other in the picture you showed.

The worx rally cars had dual exhausts down the middle of the car. My car has the exact same thing I've gotta get some photo's of it to show.

Hi Trex I did not install the exhaust system it was definately a custom job done by the previous owner.

I remember seeing the ad for the car and seeing dual exhaust and wondering if it was 1 on 1 side and 1 on the other.

I didn't know it would be the Works style till i saw it and me and PO both love it.

I will try get some pictures soon I should really buy a digital camera.

The setup is so that from the extractors you have two pipes

1 for 123 cylinders and the other for 456.

It only has 2 resonators 1 on each pipe no muffler, for roadworthy condition I had to make it quiet and I got it custom made so that just before the diff there is a point where I can change the end of the muffler to single pipe and have it bolt up to the original position.

This is to keep law enforcement off my back if I ever have to get it tested.

Loud hell yeah!!! I had it measured at 120DB at 4200rpm.

But I luv it and it's probably the loudest car in melbourne with an exhaust system on it.

Hi Gav,

Will have to wait till you can get the pix? Wonder how the works team ran their dual pipes. Probably straight through to the end.

On a different topic, check out the 1974 Fairlady for sale on ebay. It is a 2 liter S30 RHD Jap spec car. It has a 260z dash, rear lights and the tailgate even says Fairlady 260Z. 1974 must have been a confusing year for the factory sticking 260Z parts all over their model types.

If you can look at one of the Kyosho 1:18 models of a works rallye car you will see it quite exactly. In the litarture there are also pictures of a Z that rolled on the roof at a rallye in the british forests . exhaust up. I also remember that z-point had a pic from the rear of his car in his gallery. As far as I remember there is only one muffler in the middle. The 2 pipes coming from the header come together thereand 2 pipes leave that mufflöer going straight to the rear. At a stock 240Z I would fear that the fuel in the cell could get too hot.

I was just posting on the engine section on this vary thing. Wondering why no one was running dual exhausts. What I was asking is using 11/2" pipeing and a 20" or longer glass pack muffler times two and interconnecting them just infront of the two mufflers and just running the continuing two pipes toghether out the rear like stock , one over the other. Interconnecting the pipes is to ballance the back pressure and to help quiet down the systime . I have done this years ago, like 48yrs ago , and it worked vary will , at least when I was 17 I thought it sounded good. Never put the car on a dyno or anything to compaire before and after. Using the smaller plumbing would give low end but by being two it should also provide upper end as well. I am open to imput with this . thanks Gary:classic:
