Hi guys, My pal just got brand new triple webers going (74 260z) and we're having a tough time getting the first carb (one closest to the firewall) to sync with the other two. When we popped the vacuum gauge into the front of each carb, we originally had a reading of "5" for the front two and "7" for the one near the firewall. After turning the screw up on the other two to "7", the carb near the firewall started reading as "10" even though we didn't make any changes to it. Any idea what we're doing wrong here? -chase

Just bought a 260Z with a Mikuni 40PPH triple carb setup with TechnoToyTuning 75mm velocity stacks. PO running with no air filters. Can anyone with a similar setup recommend options for air filters? Plan mostly street use. Thanks!

A few years ago I found the completely rust-free, orange 240 Z of my dreams. (This is the third Z that I've owned but my first 240.) It had been sitting in barn since about 1992, about 700 miles right after the previous owner swapped the engine for a 28L with a 4-speed and rebuilt it with Mikuni carbs. I have fun working on the interior, some chassis work, electronics and other "soft" stuff, but I turn to my mechanic to get this thing running right. The problem is, I bought this because of the rust-free unmodified body, but I've never had any intention to race this thing. In fact, I really just want something fun to tool around on nice days. So, I now realize that these…

Need some Help... The issue I'm having is idle hanging up around 1500. It will lower to normal (900 rpm) if I blip throttle. Getting tired of doing that in traffic. Middle carb is hanging , but only when engine is running. Carbs open and fully shut very smooth when engine off. Vacuum holding plates open?. Maybe it has to do with the balance tube on the cannon manifold. all carbs have been rebuilt. I swapped carb position and problem stays in middle carb. I heard the cannon manifold suck. Does anyone have some helpful info for me? TIA. 20190815_164848.mp4 20190815_164500.mp4 20190815_180041.mp4

Photo references! Edutainment! Add your photos with descriptions of your carburetors, linkage, inlet manifolds and related parts so we have a visual reference database. So here are some photos of triple Dellorto DHLA 40 with unknown manifold (Datsun 240Z cast into the bottom of the manifold), linkage, and Warneford Design (Bap Geon) air cleaners.

i have rebuilt 3.1 stroker motor with brand new 45 webers. My question is what jets should i use to get the car to run good enough to take it to someone who can tune the carbs. the carbs are synced and the car runs and idles great. the car is driveable but between 1-3k it is sluggish im wondering if maybe the jets need to be changed. The 45 webers have stock jets in them. 3.1L f54 flat top pistons 89mm n42 head with big valves and race port 540/290 cam zstory full exhaust system using a stock distributor w petronix ATI damper im located in ventura county CA any help would be great thanks alot

Im having a bit of trouble figuring out how to replace a figure 8 seal that is supposedly under the jet block assembly? This is for a Solex 44phh carburetor i believe is type 5. Apparently the figure 8 seal isn't listed on the main blow up diagram.

Good evening guys, So I'm back for more help. It's almost time to drive my 240z for the first time, but the clutch is stuck to the flywheel. You might remember me. I'm the guy who bought the 72 with a seized engine(that I got unstuck). I'm here because the engine has a really hard time running when engine cold. It's about 60 degrees in Chicago now . So it will start and revs to about 2500 for 2 seconds and shut off, try again and again the same thing. Over and over and over again for about 5 minutes. I'm messing with the throttle the whole time. After a few minutes of that , it runs and idle great! Other that a slight bog when I blip off idle. …

I recently purchased a 240z with triple Webers. The other day when I went to start the car I stepped on the gas pedal a few times to prime it. The pedal stayed stuck to floor. Upon investigation looks like the P.O. did a homemade job to shorten the linkage for the Webers. The brass coupler in the picture with the red arrow is no longer working. If they where not dissimilar metals I would be tempted to just have it welded. Can I buy the correct size throttle linkage for this? Or I was thinking of converting to a throttle cable. Looking for recommendations on a kit for that.

I asked about the high revving. One of the carbs ( I think just one ) is making a spitting sound, while idling and while driving. What is that a sign of ? Thank you very much.
