My Z exterior project is complete...but my skill level for interior work is not as solid as I thought! Anyone know of a good place who restores interiors in Florida, pref South FL? Cheers!

Les is assembling my NOS dash for the restoration and can not find the flasher switch. I have two and do not know which to send him. Does anyone know which switch is appropriate for my 1972 Z? It has a production date of June I believe. Thanks Jerry Purcell

Ok well I had 2 nasty canyons in my dash along with other minor cracks all over the top of my dash(1971 Series 1 240z). Since the dash is out of the car I decided I would try to fix it and in the worst case would just buy a dash cap... http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b375/youngkal/2012-01-25_16-12-05_357.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b375/youngkal/2012-01-25_16-12-10_874.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b375/youngkal/2012-01-25_16-12-26_655.jpg well first i sanded down the cracks and made them a little deeper and wider, next I filled them with some of that great stuff home insulation stuff, then I coated the whole top with fiberglass resin with no fibers an…

hi there i own a series one 240z, all stock, and want to add an amplifier and speakers and have some questions i'd be very glad if someone could help. maybe it is important to say that i want to play music from my ipod, which connects directly to the amp, so there is no need to alter the stock stereo and the stock speaker on the left rear, it will just be left stock, and stay there. this is my plan: 1) my amplifier goes either under the driver or the passenger seat. this is the amp i have. its height is 1.75 inches: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-CaKncmNlJE6/p_108KAPPA5V/Infinity-Kappa-Five.html 2) from that amplifier, there will be an aux cable where i can connect my iphon…

I just picked up a '77 280z this weekend. It has what looks like a roof console but part of it is missing. I think something either bolts or slides over the exposed contacts. It has wires going to it but I have no tested it for power at any of the contacts. I had a '77 several years ago and it did not have anything like this. Anyone seen something like this?

I just got my 240z and the passenger seat is loose and lifts up and rattles like crazy. I can't see how to release the seat back to fix it. Does the seat back come forward? If not how to I get to the bolts? Thx

Hi all, I am trying to find out the diameter and pitch of the small machine bolts that hold on the glove box lock mechanism and the center console. Both appear to be 4MM but I have tried 4MM at .7 pitch available at Home depot and Ace hardware (thrifty now) (both in the U.S.) but they seem awfully hard to turn after I get them screwed in very far. Both of these places only sell 4MM in .7 pitch but I notice my die set has both .7 and .75 pitches. A P.O. had wood screws in place of some of the screws so the threads are chewed up a bit. I tried to put a metric 4MM die in the holes, both a .7 and a .75 pitch but neither turn by hand easily. Anyone know if there is a ty…

From reading thru other posts I think I have these on correctly, just want to make sure. Hatch weatherstripping from BlackDragon. I am still undecided on how the runners down the sides should be, I read about folks who just set them in the channel and others who ran the lip over the moulding. Here is the right side with the edge over the lip and the left side just in the channel. I dont think it matters because I fail to even see their purpose, when I shut the hatch I can see that the weatherstripping does not even make contact with the hatch body. This is on both sides. Same pretty much goes for the top piece, it didnt seem to fit right trying to get the smalle…

Ok well most of my metal work is done and after she is painted and sound proofed I guess I will have to put her back together. I have all of my big bits and pieces but was wondering if someone knew how many small metal clips and plastic receivers I will need for the door panels and other parts that use them(I am pretty sure the inner dog legs use them also). I need a count on those and also wanted to know if anyone knew of a video or step by step picture directions to putting the window and lock mech back in the doors?

I own an early 1977 280z - the one with the sloped rear deck. I wanted to drop the rear cargo deck to make more space in the back. I have found a thinner replacement spare to fit the shallower area. I also plan on removing the braces that are welded to the floor that hold the rear deck up along with the long brace that stretches the width of the car at the front edge (by the seats) of the rear deck. Next I was planning to buy some 1/4inch or 1/2 inch MDF and create a new floor to compensate for the structural ridges that were added in the '77 & '78 280z (not found in the '75). I was planning on cutting a few pieces of MDF to make the floor level with the top of th…

I have a 1977 280z and i am looking to either fix or replace my eyeball end vents in the dash. They both have the chrome wrap peeling off of the plastic. Does anyone know where i can buy new ones? MSA only sells for the 1970-73. Or does anyone know of any places or the type of place that will "rechrome" it? I live in Las Vegas and have called around, but it seems like everyone says they cannot rechrome them. Ive been calling rechroming shops. Am I calling the wrong people? Thanks.
