Today is May 10th! Yes it’s “510 day”. Sharing a good memory from 2009. Days go by so fast, and feels like yesterday. JCCS is now welcoming 15th anniversary !? Wow. Japan’s new Reiwa era has started since May 1st in Japan time, which was just yesterday. Most of our beloved Kyu-sha were “born” in “Shouwa” era. (1926 to 1989) In 1989, the era changed to “Heisei” which continued for 31 years until just yesterday. JCCS appreciates all the Kyu-sha fans – fans have shared time with us for a long 15 years. We are all the same car enthusiasts after all, and we are SO lucky to have Kyu-sha hobbies thriving here in America. Now let’s celebrate the JCCS 15th Anniversary together along with this very memorable year zero “new year” of Reiwa era. Our new 2019 awesome poster art is again crafted by Ozizo Works. Our 9th Annual Japanese Classic Motorcycle Show (JCMS) will take a place in the JCCS, on Saturday September 21st at the Marina Green Park. Today we’d like to introduce you the new Facebook page. We will post photos from previous JCMS and also photos of Japanese Kyu-“Tansha” (motorcycles in Japanese) around the word. You may still recall from the last year’s Japanese classic cars very nicely represented at the La Jolla Concours d’Elegance. The 2019 La Jolla Concours will be held on April 12 – 14 at the Cove area on the cliffs. The all Japanese Class announced for 2019 will focus on Japanese cars of the 1970’s. This is a Concours judged event inviting cars to register that are mainly non modified cars, or unrestored cars. Certain period accessories like wheels, tires, options will be considered. Last year the Japanese class was focused on cars of the 1960’s and is was a big hit. Mazda entered their survivor Cosmo. They are looking for about 10 cars to complete the field. This is…
