  2. I found a 12v switched wire here under the blue tape. Used it for my fan controller that I put on the firewall. I did do the headlight relays where I removed the voltage regulator when I did the internally regulated alternator.
  3. Working on PCV again, I am going to try for the exhaust. My basic plan is, valve cover to stock pcv valve, to a catch can, then block to the catch can, catch can to the exhaust.

  5. I bought some service tools off the bay decades ago. Along with two boxes, here's what I have.
  6. ...and the photo comes from the FIA 3022 fiche, which is for the S30 Fairlady Z-S and Z-L, so not on the "240Z assembly line". It was the S30-series Z assembly line.
  7. As discussed in the thread where the photo was Hoovered from: https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/68900-finally-found-a-69-240z-51-time-to-finish-a-30-year-multiple-owner-restoration/page/16/
  8. Interesting picture of the rear subframe / suspension. My mustache bar is E4101 and this picture is E4100. My NA parts book says E4101 also. Makes me wonder if the E4101 was NA export spec.

  10. I'm glad its not common. the previous owner did some weird stuff to this car in the 80s to make it look a certain way. im not so happy im the one who chose to remove all this bondo and booger welds. Ohwell. i guess this is what i signed up for when i wanted a project car. hopefully there isnt as much rust on this car as others.
  11. Haha! No, thankfully I have never seen that modification.
  12. @Mike , I've been reporting the posts as well. Is the "report" function working?
  13. @Mike They are multiplying!! This is number three in the last week or so!!
  14. The new flahers fixed the issue. We also connected the brake lights up so the JDM rear taillights are all connected and work properly
  15. No, that is not a common restomod. If you're careful you might be able to salvage the cowl. But it's thin and easily bent. If you destroy it they are not too hard to source A die grinder with a thin cut off wheel is your best bet

  17. Is it common for these cars to also Weld the Cowel panel to the fender? I just grinded down the bondo he put connecting the fender and cowel and its welded as well. I dont think he though anyone would ever need to replace the wiper motor. haha. might need to buy a new cowel :S

  20. An awesome project, Nils! Combining two genuine Swiss 240Zs to build one solid car is a great plan. It’s always inspiring to see classic Zs getting a new life, can’t wait to see your progress and updates!

  22. A new BaT offering...
  23. All good! Thank you so much for this feedback, we will work on it and you will see the result soon. And whenever you are in Europe, reach out and we will roll out the red carpet if you want to visit the museum. A lot of people from the US already visit it when they did a Europe tour.
  24. Here you go. Back on track. Interesting back story. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-299/
  25. Use the Ignore button DC. You won't see that person's posts unless somebody quotes them. This discussion is relevant. There's a new group of people buying up Z cars from around the world and restoring them. Without feedback from the community, us, they might be missing opportunities. BaT auctions are only up for seven days. Without advertising their car could easily go RNM. If you see people at a party arguing over in the corner, don't go over to that corner. I've Ignored a few members in the past. The only downside is that you have to be signed in for it to work. But, on the other hand, S30.World could start a separate thread. Or you could start one for them. I wouldn't call it the pissing thread though. 😄 Hover your cursor over a person's avatar and the screen will pop up.
  26. I've tried this before, but can you guys take your pissing content to a new thread? I'll suggest a name for it, "pissing content". I look forward to this thread to see cars for sale,.etc, but most of it now is guys sparring over words.
  27. ??? Your message is not clear. You've offered a link to "entertainment" but seem offended by the suggestion that your endeavor is entertaining. Anything on the internet can be viewed as "entertainment". The discussion about what S30.World is attempting is entertaining. Some feedback that I could offer after browsing your web site is to put the announcement of the BaT auction on the main page. It is hidden on the Masterpieces page now and will only be seen by accident or by people who open and read each page. And, as far as I can tell, there is no link to the Masterpieces page directly from the main S30.World page. A person has to discover that the three bars at the upper right produce a set of sub-menus. Even then the Masterpieces page is a sub-menu under a sub-menu. Quite a number of clicks to get there. Looking forward to seeing which car is chosen for the auction on 10/23. Good luck.
  28. I think that the 720 71B's might be shorter than the ones frm the Z's. Something to check. Here's a very long thread from a guy who delved deep deep deep in to the 71B transmissions. HybridZHigh RPM shifting dynamicsTrying to understand the dynamics of high RPM shifting. Specifically why does my 1983 FS5W71B tend to grind slightly when shifting from 1st to 2nd at 7300rpm. When I rebuilt this tranny, i carefully l
  29. With all the talk of restorations and factory correct details does anyone have photos or videos of the assembly line at Nissan Shatai. I've searched high and low and found very little here or online. Interested in the process of how they are assembled, primed, chipsealed, final paint and mechanical assembly. Here's the few photos I've found.
  30. A 720 unit would be a 71B series which is not great . I would recommend finding a 71C from a 240sx .
