What I've been up to!
I am sure glad my body was about rust free, That is more work then I want to do. I shouldn't bitch about the little body work i have to do when i see the time you have in. By the wayCremenga, what's your opinion on the por-15 stuff?I asked them for a catalog 2 weeks ago and still haven't gotten one. Are you using anything else besides the black. steve

Indianapolis help
On the west side in Avon is Diamond collision. It is family owned and run and they are good people. They've done work on my Z and my subaru. The good thing is that they will even mess with a 30+ old jap car. Some shops turned me down cold saying it wasn't worth there time. They are worth checking out and if i don't paint my own car they will be doing it. good luck

crack free dash
http://www.classiiczparts.blogspot.com/ Just trying to bring attention to a guy named Donald who is selling some great 240 parts cheap. No, I don't get a commission, but i have done business with him and he was very honest and communicated very often during the sale. He called me today needing to sell some parts in a hurry because of some money woes, but i'm not in a very good position to help. I'd love to buy that crack free dash but can't. I guess he has a 99% complete 71 that has very little rust and an excellent complete interior. Anyhow, if you've seen his ad, I can vouch for his integrity and business manners if you get tired of screwing with ebay.

Your favourite ZG colour combinations?
I like your combo of red and black, but silver and black would be great. I think there needs to be a large contrast for the bold zg look;but the I can see how the subtle look works too. You need to tie in the look of the wheels too!

Motivation!!
I have been wanting to ask for the same kind of help. I have been so bogged down with the daily grind I have lost motivation to get my car done. Money is slow to come in and time is always too short. The videos definetly help Jon, the sound of that reving 6 gets the blood going again. I'm just ready to hear my engine go. So zman525,I feel your pain.Try to keep pluggging along

MSA rebuilt head - any experiences?
i would NOOTTTT recommend URGELIS from ebay. He tryed to **** me over on some SU's that were "rebuilt" and ready to put together. Oh---he forgot too mention the carbon build up in the pistons and don't mind the SAND BLASTED carb bodies and the missing bits. Only after I slammed him did he give me my money back. I have heard other NEGATIVES too. His feedback is PRIVATE if that says anything

Check Out My New Intakes!!
Is that a MSA header, because I have the same set up but not installed. I have a 2.4 but that shouldn't make a difference. I hate to think I will have to grind again on these intakes. This is the first post i have read that there was interference of the header with the intake. Anyone else???

Check Out My New Intakes!!
Nice job on the polish, but I'm suprised the guy doesn't clean up the balance tube while he is at it like I did. What casting is that intake?

MSA rebuilt head - any experiences?
Arne, I think your right that you can overkill. That's where I am at and after reading endless posts from all different z sites, stock z stuff is pretty tuff. Reground cams have as many pro's and cons as new. The original metallargy is hard to beat and refaced rockers seem to be fine. I would ASSume ,like you, that MSA knows a little about these heads. My machinist, who has very little knowledge of these cars has had my head for a year-granted I told him it was alright to put me on the back burner-he is taking his time because every engine has it pecularalities. I also decided to go whole hog and it's costing me 1500$. That's all new internals ,valves , springs, cam, rockers, guides, lash pads and port and polish.I say someone who wants stock, MSA would be a good deal.

Door Gap - is it too bad?
I hope the guy welded some straps in to hold the body together when he cut out the old stuff or the body will spring apart and never line back up. From the pics it doesn't look that bad,we are talking a 30+ year old car that needs body work. My car is 99% rust free and the gaps are not perfect. Most people can't see both sides of the car at the same time so no one will notice. I think you have stared at it too long and forgot that's it's not gonna be perfect anyway. As long as you have room to putty it up nice , that's all that will matter. I did the same thing when i welded up a chevy 1/2 ton, I wound up filling the gap with more metal and bondo, but it wa s worse then yours:stupid: Hey---I was learningROFL

Best Buy Me color?
Lance, that's a tough ? since it is so subjective. Everyone loves a red sports car and a classic like a 240 looks good red. But red is expensive to paint. I would stay away from the yellows which fewer people like. Lighter colors hide those body imperfections!! I'm still tossing around the color question for my car. It was originally silver which works on Z's ,but I like blacking out the trim which changes the options on colors. It's red or silver for me with satin black trim. By the way Lance, did you get my PM about the headlite bucket

to epoxy primer or not, that is the question-almost!
I thought it was interesting that you bondo(their bondo) right over the por-15 rust treatment before it even cures. If you haven't been on their site it is worth a look.

Triple SU set up at the Nationals
In Carls response there was comments to runner lengths on the SU manifolds. I am just curiuos about the different type castings of the intakes and is there one that flows better then another. I have searched a lot for this and n-36 comes up often but with no proof that I have seen. Is there a definitive answer to be found? Since Datsun worked so hard on this I would think improvements would have been made.

Early e-88 FI
Has anyone converted an early e-88 head for fuel injection? I'm trying to find out how much work it is and any pros and cons. My head is at the shop now getting the works and if it needed to be drilled or notched I would like to do it now while its apart and at the machinists. I plan on using Su's right now but later on who knows. I'm putting a lot of money in this head and I would like it to be as versitile as possible.

need intake manifold
Can anyone steer me in the right direction for an intake manifold for my SU's.I've been polishing out this set but the casting is so poor that it won't clean up. It seems that the earlier castings like the 46 are worse then an e-88 casting.I thought there was a guy named Matt who had several sets he was selling. Any help would be appreciated.

New fenders and hood!!!
Just curious walter, where are you in Indy. I live over in Avon. Looks like you have almost as much to do as I do. Atleast my 71 was a CA car and is pretty much rust free. I would unwrap those pieces and proudly hang'em high in your garage. the "Don't throw down" is great

new wheels
Now i threw my jealousy fit I wanted to know how clearance was for brakes. Are you running stock brakes? If so ,is there room for bigger stuff?

He says he has a limited amount so by the time i have money they'll be gone:mad: He sells red centers and black( the ones i want) Damn I wish i had the money. By the way congrats-they look great!!!!

Wake up midwest!
I'd Like to hear anymore info anyone has on the indy dealership cruise. I really need to be around some first generation cars so I can remember what my car looks like together in the flesh(or metal). I guess we are talking about the dealerships in the city of indy??. Is anyone an active indy-z car club member and how many members are there. I'm going to need some help when I start putting this car back together:stupid:
